Should a new DG be started?

I think I've seen each of these three in the past week. Earlier, some hopeful signs have appeared. Of late, some less that hopeful posts.

So hear's my question, and note that this isn't a poll. You've got to post.

TOSSING OUT ALL REGARD TO TYPE OF GOVERNMENT OR VERSION OF GAME

This is a Yes or No question. Yes does not mean absolute, it means that you are interested with the caveat that you may lose that interest based on DG rules/ Civ version.

Which actually has me a bit worried . I really want to bring in new people, but I'm afraid everyone I introduce will just follow me around like a bunch of ducklings.

Hey Strider.
The forum's still dead. I went through the index around the New Year Holiday and read all the posts I hadn't read yet. My main concern is that the game will be played in CIV and not CIV3. So if I'm in a different ballgame altogether, why would I initiate any discussion? I'm just cliff-hanging here, waiting to see what the final outcome will be.
