Sig Length: Blech

I am in a lot of SGs, and have made a lot in the C&C forum. My sig used to be under fives lines. Now it can be only 500 characters, or with the length of links at CFC, about one line (three or four links). Please increase this, I don't like not being able to have this in my signature .

About 95 characters. You can have five of those. I want links to me work, and SGs!

Size one doesn't help. It just addds more characters. It's not about line length, it's about how many characters I can have.

No. That's how I found out. I could have kept my old sig, but I wanted to remove something, and had to make it drastically shorter to do so.

So, as a protest, I'm making my sig the largest size possible (there is nothing against this in the rules).

It is not disallowed in the rules. If all of the mods, and TF will ignore me, I'll legally get them to listen. I'm sorry if it gets in your way perf, but I beleive your sig is above the limit to, so you can't take out an exra space (which you don't have though), without making it drastically shorter.

You need to change it or get a 1 week ban. You are not allowed to use font size greater than 3 in sigs.

You guys really need to give me time to sort this things out. I am not a machine.

You're right, the actual rules don't mention anything besides five lines, and this should probably be edited when TF has the time. Just that what I said has been said by mods many times, and so is an official unwritten rule.

But anyway, TF, you should change the rules, as it does looks pretty bad to have sigs that size.

It is implied in the forum rules:

Keep your signature brief.
This forum has a signature feature that allows you to "sign" your posts with a customized block of text. However, large signatures that take up more than 5 lines are not permitted. Everyone would agree that people are much more interested in reading your ideas than looking at your signature. It's annoying to see posts that have signatures that are much bigger than the messages in the post. Please keep your signature brief.

Your sig definitely didn't meet those bolded tests. Everyone knows that the more than 5 line rule is based on the standard forum text size. We allowed people to have 6 lines if they used size=1.

I also stated recently that I will delete any sig that I considered annoying without warning.

With vB 3.0, we can actually remove signature privilege from a poster permenantly, so think twice before putting up an annoying signature.


EDIT: The limit is increased to 800 chars now. Should be enough for most people...
