Simple noob question about uploading mods to Civfanatics

Okay, so I have a mod or two on the steam workshop, but how do I take one of those mods and put it in .civ5mod format so I can upload them to civfanatics as well? I only know how to publish through the steam workshop which I don't think outputs the file format I need.

I think the file is basically a compressed folder. One can simply use 7-Zip to extract the files and all the mod's files will be there.
