Could someone please tell me what the difference is between a simultaneous and a turnless game. I have played both and they seemed to work the same way. In both cases there is a bar sliding changing the turns. I feel so confused...
In simultaneous the slider is the maximum amount of time you have.
If you end your turn before that (in the same way you do in single player, enter space bar, etc) and all your oponents do the same, you'll go to the next turn immediately after the last one.
Maybe the timer was too fast and you couldn't tell the difference, but there is one.
AFAIK, simultaneous just means everyone doing their turns at the same time. But can't proceed to next turn until the last person finishes his moves.
Turnless has no turns. Instead each unit, city etc has a fixed amt of time to pass (or something) before another move can be made or the production is finished...
