I was wondering what patterns of simultaneous play is optimal, if any, in a timed match that you have recognized. Perhaps I'm making the case for better AI because nothing beats playing against something that doesn't suffer fatigue like people do.
Moving units is most important when you are at war. It is often very beneficial to get "1st move" to run away, heal or get that kill shot on a wounded unit.
After that is city management and using workers etc.. The turn timer allows for ample time so you shouldn't ever run out of time unless you're in a big war or there's tons of lag.
