Skaven development thread

From Gamespot. Here's the link:http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/warhammer/index.html.

And yeah it made quite an impression on me too. I was looking for WH maps for my civ3 map and I found an image that belonged to a game of WH I did not know about. I searched Gamespot and found out about this new WH game: WH Mark of Chaos  .

Great. To play the Mark of Chaos, I will need about..hmm... 1000 USD. Thank God for WH mod! :)

Tell me about it:lol: ! Did you add the costs to the upgrades to your computer hardware to that  ?

That colour wouldn't be that bad for the skaven, although it is a bad colour!

I would think brown or green would best suit the skaven

The Stormvermin is looking great

I was doing research and found that there are actually Stormvermin Guards, but they are called Seer Guards and form the bodyguard for the Grey Seer whom they serve as well as guarding the temples which the Seers reside in.

The Grey Seers are not allowed to have a standing army of Clanrats, so each year they choose one warrior from one of the warrior clans and make them a Seer Guard :)

Shouldn't the tail be about double that length?

There's a green-tinged tan colour that's unused, very similar to the Tilean colour.

I've also thought about swapping some colours around, to be precise, I think it's time to rob Ind of their cool grey colour, and give that to some other civ.
One idea is to give the grey to the goblins, the dark brown to the Skaven, the dark gold to the ungols and either sissy blue or sissy purple to Ind.

Or grey to skaven, dark gold to ungols, blue/purple to Ind.

Or dark gold to skaven, grey to ungols, blue/purple to Ind.

About giving brown to skaven, PRO: They're brown, you know?

CON: They are already brown, give them a complimentary colour.

OK. What about this?

Ungols get Gold (18) cos they are based on the Golden Horde.

Ind gets their former Lt Purple (17) cos I think they wouldn`t mind such a rich color.

Skaven get Ind`s former Gray (12) cos it would look great ;)

Tilea gets Lt Blue (05) cos its based on Italy, and most of us hail from Europe, or Australia, another football (or soccer for you heathens) country, and know why Tilea should get Lt Blue for its color :)

One problem with this setup might occur in the future, when the Ogre Kingdoms make their appearance :mischief: Their position is close to the Ungols, and no one in their right mind would give them Pale Pink (30) or Lavender (31), so that leaves us with Dark Gold (26), but its not such a big problem cos I`m sure no one will have a problem telling apart an ogre unit from an ungol unit :)

I use Orange for the Ungols, Purple for Chaos dwarves, Lavender for the Ind,
and light Pink for Araby. But Gray is a bit dull.

I suggest giving Tan to the Skavens and Araby the pink (since also pink is more close to the Magenta they have in vanilla-civ)

I agree with this part. The other I don't know...I guess we should respect Ed's wishes as much as possible.

Scy, you are agreeing with the first one, Ungols going Gold? But that means they are taking Tilea`s current color :)

So if you don`t wanna change Tilea, then you should suggest the Dark Gold for Ungols, that one is not being used :)

Also, mrtn? Number 22 is Estalia, you typed Tilea twice, but its no biggy ;)

And mebbe this shoud go over on the discussion thread.

And (yes, editing again ), I agree with mrtn about the tail`s length.

Heh, a "real" Estalian would probably kill me for that. :D

BTW, Tilea is based on Greece too, not just Italy. AFAIK the Remean empire was more like the empire of Athens than that of Rome.
