Skaven development thread

Winds of change... I don`t understand why aaglo doesn`t like skaven. Or maybe I should say didn`t like skaven, cos it seems he is thinking of making one :mischief: I mean, they are no more uglier, nastier, smellier than the Beastmen, right?
And with his awesome talent...

Wha`s wrong wiff da shiild? Issa gud shiild. I like shiild an` choppa. Give choppa, please?

@Stormrage, you don't have to understand why I don't like skaven. I just don't. They look like a pile of rags, nothing really catches my eye in them (well, maybe those bigass weapons do ;) ). But those GW-models are just plain ugly and featureless to me.

And hey, no shields to skavens. Shield is a thing-for-skaven as much as gunpowder is a thing-for-elves.

@LMR!
The problems with the rat tank include:
- threads (maybe I should just replace them with wheels...).
- ummm... yep, that was it :)

Since we cant get anyone to do a skaven leaderhead,we can always substitute a flag till we do find someone to make one.:)

Puny skaven scum! Just out of pity I might think about making a skaven...
Since it takes alot to inspire you,how about making this one

all you have to do is have a somewhat snout nose and the rest dont really have to be a too much of a rat in detail[since ur too screamish of these animals:lol: ],except the tail.:)

Well, there are shields on the skaven sprue for Mordheim, at least. :)

I have just finished painting two of my skaven for my Mordheim warband btw. ;)

Just here asking if I'm not doing anything silly with this... and how about the threads: does the tank need those, or would it be better suited for WH-world in general if it had wheels instead (I really haven't seen a single thing in WH that has threads - and I suspect that the pic in first page is a complete conversion).

While surfing (such a cool word ) the GW website, I, a non-table-top game player, a non-WH-books reader (would love to tho, but there aren`t any in the libraries over here? They are for sale only?), and basicly a guy who gets his WH info from the mod, got under the impression that Skaven like to settle in abandoned dwarven strongholds.. If this is true, maybe you could give some dwarven city names to the skaven`s list, like that Khemri-Lahmia thing?

Good idea, stormy!

Here's a civpedia entry for you aaglo:

Klawmunkast's Rat Tank is the most audacious and warped weapon of war he has created to date. In appearance, it is similar to an Imperial Steam Tank, only it has been constructed from brass and planks of mouldering wood while it moves around on a system of tracks driven by rats racing around inside the machine.

This rat-race is also instrumental in powering the tank's impressive array of weapons through its warpstone generator. These weapons (the Warpfire Thrower and the Warp-Lighting cannon) are all mounted on the tank's exterior.

I also added Klawmunkast to the SL list.

Wheels are fine. as you can see from the info above, it has a warpfire thrower and a warplightning cannon. the smaller one on top should be the warpfire thrower, and works like a flamethrower, except the flames are green :)

The warplightning cannon should just be a huge blast of green energy, but you can experiment with this if you want :D

The model looks simply awesome

And aren't they called treads? ;)

Hey Great Rat-tank :goodjob:

It looks like a combination of the Imperial steamtank and the Doomwheel and looks like floating. It could perhaps have a smaller wheel in the front on the middle under the tank.
Just a suggestion ;)

and could somebody please post the sounds for the temple guard because i cannot find them anywhere and do not want to install the whole mod again to get them. please?

EDIT: @ frosty: he was having problems deciding whether to put treads or wheels on it. this was just a preview to show us what he had done already :)

Unit-size.
The "doomwheel" in here is smaller than the doomwheel-unit. If it was the same size, this unit would be ridiculously large (which isn't a good thing at all).
