I bought Civ 6 during the humble bundle sale recently and I play through Steam.
While I'm playing I regularly get an issue where the game starts "Skipping". The music starts and stops like a flaw on a record, the interface seems to develop similar gaps in responsiveness and everything slows to a crawl. Eventually the problem resolves itself but it goes on for minutes at a time.
When I alt-tab out to do other things I've been finding my other programs run slowly while I'm having the issue but not while Civ 6 runs normally. Often trying to Alt-Tab out causes everything to sieze up for a minute or two.
I've tried turning the graphics down to minimum but that doesn't seem to help.
I've got a pretty good system, 3.5GHz AMD processor and 8GB RAM and a 2GB AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card. My virus scanner AVG is set to ignore my Civ 6 directory both in My Documents and on Steam.
(I just had a thought that My Documents is on my SSD C: drive along with my operating system while my games are all on my larger HDD, could that be an issue?)
