Slavs Battlesuit slingshot

I think the quest from the Institute only triggers when you are actually working the specialists slots in it. Since the AI doesn't always do this, you need to manually assign them.

And I has it pop without placing any so it surely isn't that.

I made a thread about what triggers building quests and someone posted that they looked into the script/code and it is a 5% chance to trigger every turn.

After reading this strategy, I decided to give it a try. This game was my 2nd BE game.

Lucky that I got titanum tiles. Prosperity free settler, free worker, and "honor" (forgot the policy tech name..) 3rd policy that gives you science when you kill aliens. After that, it doesn't matter.

Followed what OP suggested, and I got battlesuit tech t78, with 5 cities that had full trade routes.

After that, just keep pumping out battlesuits and sending them ended the game... this is like longswordman rush for vanilla civ5.

I chose instant heal in most cases, and pillaged tiles to heal up. t129 DV. This was easier than civ5 BNW emperor domination.

The might virtue tree is VERY powerful with this strategy. My first attempt trying it out didn't start so amazing. Small map, 4 players, the only titanium was very far from me, and it took me till around turn 110 when I was finally able to get the suits rolling. With the might affinity, at turn 117 I have 5 battlesuits, 4 more titanium (A total of 9 from 1 source of titanium), and a lvl 6 purity affinity. The funny thing is, at this stage in the game, everyone's capitals are actually weaker than the suits. LOL

I might try the planet carver strategy after this. 2 thumb up to you bro!:thumbsup:

Edit: Just thought I'd mention my science rate is only at 17 beakers! lol Making this even more cool, science is pretty irrelevant for something like this.

Every game building has associated quest.

When it will trigger is random, but only requirement is to have at least one such building.

Institute quest, as one of the rewards, has to give 1 free tech (other is I think 5% science boost to the city).

If this seems unbalanced to anyone... today I released a Simple Balance mod. One of the few changes made is to the early unique affinity units. Battlesuits etc. have been moved to affinity 6, and infantry have been buffed a tad to 28 str level 3 infantry (also at affinity 6). May be of interest if this kind of thing makes the game a cakewalk...

Hey guys, long time fan of all of you, first time poster..!
I'm sorta noobish, I caught on to the Civ four a while back and never jumped into the five. Then Beyond Earth surprised me and I was too addicted to stop.
I really liked Kylearan's website about all his experiments with the Civ four and I started to learn slash experiment with similar goals.

So I've taken to trying new scenarios, trying to have a goal and seeing how fast I can get there you know.
I thought the Battlesuit rush was like getting tanks first (or Praetorians) back in the four so I set off on my education with gusto.
I produced my first Battlesuit at turn one sixty. I oohed and ahhed it for a bit, then wondered why I couldn't crank it out faster.
I had plenty of Titanium but my tech researches seemed to take "forever". I studied the whole "free techs" options, looking for a way I could've done things differently.

And what I saw seemed wrong for some reason. Like, is there more than just the two free tech opportunities?
I got one free tech from my sponsor, the Slavics (with my first solar collector) and the second free tech from the Institute quest.
Was there some others I'm overlooking or forgetting..?

When it comes to free Virtues, is there more than just the Synergies?
Is there a forum page (yet) that illustrates all the ways "free stuff" can be acquired?
I'm familiar with the building quest breakdown, I have that with the Virtues and Tech Web pages bookmarked.

Also you guys rock huh, on behalf of all the noobs you're constantly helpin', big boss sausage thanks!

How do you get the "clean out two alien nests" quest to come up? I got stuck on level 3 Purity and couldn't build any Battlesuits.

I think it is random. Which makes an early battlesuit slingshot unreliable in a lot of instances.

I'm unlocking Battlesuits anywhere between turn 95 and 125 depending on early game RNG.

I always take three prosperity virtues to get the settler and then I either go might or industry. Industry lets me build wider quicker which helps overall civ development and BSuit production. Might gets me that 4th affinity quicker but I usually end up with half as many tall buildings.

Still looking for a sub turn 90 Battlesuit unlock.

Well I did it. Never been good enough at civ games to beat the higher difficulty levels before so this really does make it easy. I never got a free satellite and it took a while for the institute quest to fire but it worked out. The second to last faction I attacked got battlesuits too, but a few turns into the war I got true battlesuits so it wasn't a problem. I won in just under 200 turns. I know others have done much better but that's pretty fast for me.
