I think I'm devolping a sleep problem. I'm awake at 0230 and and will get a few hours of sleep for tomorrow. Then in a few days I will sleep for 15 hours in a day. I don't get it, I try to sleep at 10 then I finally sleep at 3 or 4. I keep thinking about shipping so I can't shut my brain down some nights. Any ideas from anyone on a way to force myself to sleep.

I've had problems as well. My current problem is that i'm on vacation so my sleep patterns are all messed up.

Try sleeping in a new spot.

Try music.

I used sleeping pills for 5 days to get me back on track. It helped some but didn't do it on it's own. I was stressing about stuff and that doesn't help.

Work out a few hours before you go to bed.

Hopefully some of that helps.

Go running in the evening. Make your body really tired, and your mind should follow.

I've had the same problem. I couldn't go to sleep until about 3-4 AM and then I woke up at 1 PM very tired and exhausted. :(

I think the best thing to do is work and get your body tired (work out or something, do something that's also healthy for you), and you'll fall asleep much easier.

try to stay awake reading a book or something that is going to keep your mind from wondering. sooner or later your brain might get tired. I also think warm brandy is a good night cap.

I also have a problem with sleeping though not as extreme as yours (It takes on average one and a half hours for me to go to sleep).

The get-your-body-tired tactic doesn't work imho. Maybe try reading a book or meditating or something before you go to sleep to take your mind off things. Or seek medical help if you really need to.

Same thing here... I´m having that for over 2 years now. It has developed to the point where I cannot sleep before 8-9 AM sometimes! After a few weeks, when I am totally exhausted, my sleep normalizes for 2-3 days and I sleep normal, and when my batteries are charged, it starts all over again. Makes you feel like a :nuke: . ( but I have not done something about that... as I´m a student in the final phases, I can afford to wake up at 12-16 :D )

Perhaps we should move to different time zones according to the number of hours we fall asleep late. :)

The first thing I would do is regulate caffeine intake, even a little after six in the afternoon can throw me out of order.
