Sorry but I couldn't resist after looking at the "So, how did your last game go?"-thread.

Playing as Mehmed of the Ottomans (Emperor). Been going well and I'm not very much behind in techs :goodjob: .

I'm on an island with 3 other civs; Justinian, Gandhi, Victoria. We all are Jewish and we have AP. Some guy made that "most advanced civs"-thing and everybody on our island is better than anyone else.

plus, I've built Pyramids, Hanging Gardens, Shwedagon Paya, Statue of Zeus, Great Wall. :)

How is yours?

EDIT: Island, in this case, means continent :)

As always growing a bit bored with the late stages as it stopped being challenging a few hundred turns ago. Amazing mod for the early game. A bit too much for the later. Right now I'm approaching railroads and don't know if I've got the energy to bother. Seriously, at that point in the late game with a vast empire, you're really in no mood for further micromanagement. Wish workers had an automated 'build railroads only' button for this crap. Rest of he world are third worlders. I'm inches from tanks and destroyers and the most advanced rival is just about to figure out knights. Playing on monarch so its not like I'm skimping.

Game gets too easy in the late stages. Think I'll try another.

Just started my first game on Prince difficulty this morning (usually playing Noble) as the French - on standard size, and seem to be on a snaky continent with Portugal, Spain and Zulu.

I was planning to go for a relatively peacful game (second city got marble), but Joao is boxed in at the end of the continent a bit too close for my liking. There is no bronze anywhere nearby, but I have horses within capital fat cross - and Joao has got neither :D

I just got my stack of 6 Horse Archers moving towards Joao's second city when I had to leave for work. 2 cities so far with lots of fish & crabs, and once I have elimiated Joao I will be expanding in that direction. Am a little bit behind in tech, but not horribly so. It feels like I'm off to a good start but as this is a higher difficulty game than I'm used to I might be wrong...

Well it's not current anymore but the game I was just playing ended with me and Roosevelt running neck and neck for a space race win with just a few turns before launch, when all of sudden Ramses pulls off a cultural win. Bummer! I didn't even see it coming.

I just ended a Suryavarman game with Conquest win on snaky big small snaky continents, prince difficulty, normal size, epic speed. It ended in year 1760-ish with 56k-ish score. It was a pain to move all of my troops from one point another with Galleons, especially when most of the AI cities are on islands.

First monarch game as darius, immortals took out napoleon early on now just got maces and have 8 cities juts built forbidden palace at 70% tech with a small profit. the others on continent have 8 or 9 cities and thanks to great spy from the wall stole a few tech so now am on par with one and 3 tech ahead of the other, brain block who they are

Problem is my power is low compared to both of them due to a building phase of courthouses and forges. We are all same religion so at please and hoping they don't declair before I can get a stack or two sorted.

Am please so far with my first monarch game but if either of the other two were war mongers I am not sure I would be doing so well.

I am in with a chance of a win I think which would be nice, keep you posted.

Monarch, marathon, large map, Big and Small, random personalities, random leaders, aggressive AI, raging barbarians.

Ended up with my own island, but connected to others, somehow got too relaxed and built a bunch of wonders, and Kublai of the Persians settled a good spot on my territory. Everytime I prepare for war against him to capture that city, Peter of the French, on the island next to me, starts raiding. I'm got a good headstart on getting towards rifling, so maybe I can start another war then and ride out their navel superiority.

Got the craving to play with Cataphracts after reading the "Justinian Leader Guide" in the Strategy forum. Prince, Big & Small, Large, Epic, 10 AI.

Started out with lots of room (and at my end of the continent with Ghandi between me and everyone else. Would have been a very peaceful early game - until Ghandi beat me to Hinduism by one turn and the nearest Horses ended up on a good 15 tiles NE of Delhi. Plus, Gandhi had Marble.

So I chopped the Great Wall, many axes and drove my economy into the red by eliminating gandhi (I had close to 10-12 cities - no CoL or currency). And I was still no where near the Horses (Hamurabi, also Hindu, got there first). So I traded him Copper for his horses, converted Shaka (now my other neighbor) to hinduism. Guilds came in just as my Economy recovered and I used the Ap Palace to instigate a dog pile, and eventually vassalize, Sitting Bull.

Gilgamesh was second in score and Taoist - he declares on Shaka. Just as my SoD reaches his border, I get the Ap Palace option to declare a Holy War on Giggles.

The game has been a lot of fun.

Started new game with Boudica on 18 civs, huge, big-medium snaky continents on Prince. I cleared up my continet/island from 2 civs (Darius & Ramses) around 900BC. I am debating wheter I should cross the coast and invade the next continent (HC & Gengis are in there) with Gallic,Axe,Chariot or wait till later. My treasury is going down fast due to some unfortunate tech choices. I have 7 cities, -12g/turn with 30% science slider (I need to finish researching aesthetic to trade for other more useful tech)
