I have been on this forum for almost one month and I have read that word a few times : "trolling".

I have no idea whatsoever what it means.

I have come to the conclusion that "trolling" is expressing an opinion that the mainstream top-dogs of this forum judge as irrelevant.

Please define "trolling" : I have no idea what you are talking about.

P.S. I suppose my question could be judged as "trolling".

Trolling is complaining without helping, or coming here, posting once that you're pissed, then leaving.

It's not a simple disagreement- trolling is usually characterized by unsubstantiated claims based on a single user's experience held up as evidence that someone (in this case, Take2 or Firaxis) somehow performed an injustice by releasing the game in its current state.

In other words, it is simply non-constructive criticism or blatant rabble-rousing.


OR: "deliberately provoking arguments on newsgroups or bulletin boards, with no other intent than to gain attention for the sake of attention. Originally: fishing by dragging a line fitted with one or more hooks behind the boat." - from googling the word "trolling".

I would not say that your question counts as trolling.

A- explain how, if you're not buying it on Ebay, since I reserved mine 6 months ago and I still don't have one. Please, enlighten me.

B- what the hell is the point of that? You're still spending almost 400 bucks on something that your 1 year old computer could run and you could have fun with for about 50 bucks. Or did you not know that that game is a PC port?

C- no thanks, I like to try to add to the discussion in a positive way.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH...I was 55th on the list at Gamestop. They shipped 20 on the day of release- I'm pretty pessimistic about getting one in time for Christmas.

Trolls are people who post stuff on bulletin boards just to provoke other people. Your classic troll is someone who drops into a thread just to insult people and make them angry. But there are other, more subtle forms of trolling.

Where are you going to get a 360 at regular retail price before Christmas? Ebay is the only place you can find them for the foreseeable future and they ain't going cheap.

I can manage the addiction well enough so long as I don't load the game. Once I'm in, I'm in for hours and there's no way I'm getting to bed at a reasonable time (I have a hard enough time with that anyway). Just gotta stay away...

i like how this turn into getting a xbox 360 for xmas thread. But you all know that Nintendo Revolution will be the only console that well revolutionized console gaming.

As to giving away my Civ4 for, it's the best thing i done. I can do some work, look for work, and looking to go back to school. Get a career, get married, have kids, get mortgage on a house.

And only then, i can play Civ4 to ruin my life all over again.

I am so glad that I am single and don't have anyone telling me what to do. I love being able to play when I want and not having to answer to anybody because I fell asleep and let my head hit the keyboard. This game is so addicting that is the reason I have so few posts on this site. It eats into my gametime.
