So I was looking at the Old CiV I strat guide last nite and...

It was also possible to put a railroad network across the ocean. Land units couldn't travel on it, but it did add trade to the tile.

Good old-fashioned Atlantic Express

Did water units get movement bonus?

That, and how helicopters, once presumable disassembled and stored on trains, move at a whopping 4 TIMES the speed of foot soldiers on the same train (or sometimes five times the speed if the helicopters have a guy with a pistol walking behind them).

I want Civ II wonders movies back !!!

Wonder movies are customizable, so you may be able to import the movies from Civ II wonders that are also present in Civ IV (Pyramids, Great Wall, Great Library, Great Lighthouse, Hangers, Statue of Liberty, Eiffel, UN... are those all?). The rest you'll have to find somewhere else, I'm afraid.

I would love to have the Offshore Platform back as an improvement.

But y'all are missing the best part: The Advisors. :D

yeah, the advisors were awesome, they always said pretty much the same thing every game, but still!

I loved how their outfits changed as time went on, and to memory one of them wasn't that bad to look at!

10+ years since playing Civ II last, the choir I was in sang "Down Among the Dead Men" (the piece the military adviser sings when he's happily drunk). I giggled a bit when I looked at the lyrics. :)

The diplomacy advisor woman was good, followed by the military guy. Elvis was the worst actor IMO, his hand gestures and voice/look (everything?) just don't work at all.

I personally am fond of the Financial guy (pre-modern versions only, though). Anyone else?
