And why should I be surprised that everyone and their vassal has a banana to offer. "Why sure Jao, I'll take some of those spare bananas off your hands even though I'm working on getting a few of my own now that I've done researched and refined my method of harvesting goods from this mad jungle we all (well, most of us anyways) live in. I'll need a few extras for when I decide to shove them up Augustus Caesars rear end because as I'm sure you're aware he has been a royal pain in my own exit strategy thingie"

Jungle madness

lol... I've never tried the rain forest map, but I'm guessing Iron Working to clear jungles becomes a huge priority?

Its the same on Arboreal maps, where deer is aplenty.
"Sure, ill give you Iron for your Deer, i only have 17 instances myself"

Seriously, WTH?

I don't know if either one of those maps is rich in resources that are useful in corps. But if there are so many banana's, maybe there is so much sugar as well? I love standard ethanol for extra science boost at the end. I'll have to chack I've never played those maps

The defining characteristics of the Rainforest map are:

*Mostly jungle (of course) and no ocean, but some localised concentrations of other terrain types, such as clusters of mountains with an inaccessible interior;
*Long river systems which either terminate in small lakes, or loop back on themselves right around the map;
*severe unhealthiness from the beginning, unless you are fortunate enough to start in one of the limited grassland areas;
*a massive undertaking to clear the jungles, with no chop-rush effect!
*a fine playground for Montezuma with woodsman III jaguars, but pretty naff for everyone else.

That's where the dinosaurs live, right? ;)

is there a link somewhere that shows what the custom maps look like usually? I know there is a thread somewhere for the hemispheres, fractal, etc.

When you play The Great Plains map, you get the 'banana effect' but with cows instead. The lack of diversity means you get health problems on this one too.

Isn't the Khymer UU especially designed for jungle too? Good summary though.

I think that the corp Cereal Mills should consume not only wheat, corn, and rice, but bananas and cattle(milk) as well. What good is cereal dry and without fruit? :mischief:

Khmer UU is the ballista elephant: same as war elephant, but "targets any mounted units first in combat outside cities". I don't believe it has any special advantage in jungles.

Right you are then :)
