[GS] So What Are You Naming Your Rock Bands?

To finish the Germans off for a well-earned cultural victory, I sent a couple of rock band units into Mainz. However, before the game would let me me use them, I had to name them. Perplexed and in a rush to finish, I thought of my favorite non-Civ game, World of Warcraft, and named my first band after my hunter's pet: "Mortalcoil."

Not a bad name for a rock band, I thought. But what to name the 2nd one? All I could come up with was a slang term for inadvertently pulling mobs due to straying too close to them.

Yes, I named my 2nd band "Butt Pull." Obviously a Metal band.

What are you naming your rock band units?

I've used real names so far. Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Rammstein, Overkill, Sepultura. I had to name my indie band The Ramones. Indie I just consider punk rock, they should just change that over to punk rock.

I haven't played GS yet, but I am planning to use real names: either using real bands/artists from that civilization if they have a strong popular music presence in real life, or any band/artist name in real life but in chronological order as the game goes on and whatever comes up in my mind.

I haven't got that far in my game yet but when I do I will probably give them all names from medieval French troubadours, troveres and musicians not that I'm still annoyed Eleanor doesn't get a troubadour UU or anything...

But seriously, one can certainly follow the national homage route. Canadians could use "Rush" or "Avril Lavigne" (no Justin Beiber, please ) Koreans could use "BTS" or "Black Pink." And on it goes. Are there famous bands in Georgia?

* actually the 2nd after the first was over way too quickly and I didn't even get to the modern era... I added Kongo and Russia manually to put some cultural speedbumps in

[Name of Target Civ or Leader] and number. Like Sweden 1, Dido 3, etc.

Terribly unimaginative, I know, but it helps me remember where I want to send each band and in what order I created them.

I think I'll try that, use bands/artists from whatever civ I'm playing as. Be a lot easier for some than others.

I must have created 20 or 30 bands in my culture game. I stopped caring what they were named after 4 or 5.
