I've always wondered how much land one tile represented.

I have a formula for that one as well...

WOW your all wrong! It depends on what unit land military units make up like Division out of an army, while all naval units make up one or two of that unit and Air Units make up like a squadron

I would assume that naval units represent a naval group. So, for example, a single carrier would represent a carrier group, and a battleship would represent a battle group.

I think, in the end, there's really no way to determine what the actual size of each Civ unit.

One tile on a standard map is about 12 miles across, I've heard. Could be wrong.

I like to think of a unit as being about 200 men.

That depends on which graphics set you are using. I'd count how many units each lil screen dude represents, but I'd have to put down my beer to count that high.

assuming were talking about infantry/warriors/spearmen/marines or whatever land unit consisting of mostly men and not all that much equipment, i always figuered 1 unit was a division which be anywhere from 7000 to 15000 men

of its impossible to ssay,because of diffrence in map, world size etc
