While Civ 5 is a VASTLY better game than Elemental, one thing I love about Stardock is their constant dev diaries detailing the patches in production and what there is to look forward to. Does anyone know if the Firaxis devs have a blog or dev diary or anything? Do we have any idea what to look forward to?

Yes, if you check the Elemental War of Magic forums you will see that the CEO of Stardock, Brad Wardell aka Frogboy, is keeping players well informed of what the developers are doing. Patch 1.09 will be out next week and they are aiming for version 1.1 which will also be the basis for a demo. This builds confidence, even after a disastrous launch of a game that was barely in beta.

Firaxis has the opposite tradition. They are Olympians. Maintain dead silence until a patch or DLC is ready. They probably will not change.

Eh well, I have to agree. Even though they have some people from the dev team on 2K's official forums they hardly give any useful information, but I don't blame them here, just theirs company policy.

But I have hopes about Civ 5. I don't think Firaxis let users rot in previous games (like EA, i.e.). And with this absurd modding platform coming I guess it won't be long until everything in Civ 5 is addressed, by them or by us players/modders.
