So, why aren't you a civIII modder yet?

Well, I hope this thread means your interested in some new mods, because I've got one
coming in the not too far off. I've got to play-test a bit, finish the civo and tighten some
odds and ends. In the meantime, maybe you wouldn't mind answering a few questions here:

And, to answer your question:

I've been messing with my own maps for nearly as long as I've played (just a few years.) Only recently did I feel the need to go the next step to get the same old rush. Also, I found all those cool units and had to play with them. At that point, making my own idea a reality was unavoidable.

With that said, to whatever degree, now I know how much time/work has gone into all of the awesome mods on this website and can really appreciate what (those) you guys have done.

I agree with Wuhjah's feelings about modding. After a few years playing "regular" C2 and C3C I felt the urge to take a step ahead. So I started making my own maps and, after discovering this site, I started adding new units, changing the rules in the editor... So after maaaaaany months lurking the place I joined today (well... Gary Childress's lotery had to do a lot with it... So I've also signed on Storm over Civ... :crazyeye:) Next step should be posting here some of those results, face the criticism (good or bad) of the "modmastering" and learn from their critics. Making new .pcx's or .flc's is still a huge step, as I have very little time to play...
