My friends always ask me why I spend my time talking to a bunch of nerds that play civIII. My friends comments make it seem like everyone who play turn based games are nerds with no interest in the real world, whom I shouldn't associate myself with. But from reading posts like 'staying fit', 'source award' and other similar threads I've come to the conclusion that a lot of you are not nerds, but are regular people that may enjoy playing sports and watching hip hop too.:goodjob: This brings me closer to the CFC family:D

I am a nerd. But at least I'm not a Trekkie.

I'm an antisocial jerk which could count as qualifications of being a nerd...

im a college student with nothing to do during the day since I dont have a job and my classes are done by noon every day.

I can party at night, study in the evening, but during the day and sometimes on weeknights I have Dick all to do!

I am most certainly a nerd.
I'm doing a degree in computer science :D

Same here. Only thing that sets me apart from most nerds is that I am fat where as most are skinny.:queen:*

I couldn't find any fat smilies so I used the queen one instead.

I don't go by the philosophy of "nerdism" and "coolism". If my friends wonder why I cannot find intellectual fulfilment talking to them about their superficial relational problems than they have answered the question of why I come here by themselves.

What's wrong with being a nerd?

I take being caled a nerd as a compliment. But the problem with the term "nerd" is that people just think all we know is computer games and sci-fi shows. I'm into astrophysics, warfare, history, computers, computer games, and pretty much anything else that I find interesting. But I mainly play computer games and watch TV(typically sci-fis) simply because I got nothing better to do.

I am un-labelled. Only time I spend in front of a computer is when I'm at work. Other than that I work out, play various sports, get drunk when possible, go out shopping, go for walks, go on dates, hang with friends... So I dunno... If anyone got a label for all that please smack it on me. Would it perhaps be "Average-26-year-old-european-male"? :)

Most people who think I'm a nerd since I play Civ, thinking that I have no contact with the real world, mostly play shoot-em-up games like GTA and CS. If that's not far from reality (except CS), I don't know. I'm proud of being a nerd, a Civ'er and a CFC'er.:goodjob:

And don't forget, it's the nerds who get careers!;)

Im such an incredible nerd, that sometimes, people think Im cool. Im so much smarter than everyone else, many people think Im stupid:lol:

I'm a very social nerd. It will end up being a boon :D

I'm an odd combination between jock and nerd. I defy all stereotypes!

Except the whole white protestant male thing...

I wouldn't say I'm a 'nerd'. I prefer 'geek'.

In fact I'm mixture of 'cool' and 'geek' - think in terms of Ross off 'Friends' and that's the kind of geek I am.

Pencil-necked geek,
a grit eatin' freak,
a scum sucking pea-head with a lousy physique.

But a nerd? Nah... :mischief:
