Solution for missing resource display icons on map

I have been struggling for a long time with the issue of only some resource icons being displayed on the map. It doesn´t happen all of the time and it seems to be related to map size, maybe also to computer specs. It was suggested to do a full zoom out of the map and toggle the icons on and off. This does help sometimes but not always.

Here is the recipe to turn on all of the icons, on my system it works all of the time:

1. Turn off the icons (by clicking on the "?" symbol to the lower right or pressing ctrl r).
2. Save your game.
3. Load the same game you have just saved.
4. Turn on the resource icons before doing anything else (especially not zooming the map in any way). All of them are displayed now.

Or just zoom way out, toggle the resource button on the minimap and select "all". Then zoom in again

Nope, in my case this is not always working, only the way that I have described.
