[SOLVED] Combat information table - checked integrity of game files

Just started up a new game after a few months not playing Civ. Combat information table displaying combat percentages no longer shows up. No mods installed. No option to add/remove it. HELP advises to mouse over an enemy unit to get the combat odds. This does not happen. Several internet searches haven't shown anyone else having the same problem.

WTH. It also won't let me initiate diplomacy with anyone? (can speak to city-states, btw, just not other civs).

Never mind. Had to verify integrity of game cache and download 6 files. That seemed to fix it.
