Some mods I was wondering if existed?

I'd like to start with saying I am VERY new to the Civilization games. I've only just gotten my hands on Civ IV very recently and I play Civ V on OnLive. With that said, there are two mods I was wondering if they exist. I can't seem to find anything on them and I figure this is the best place to ask.

1. A fantasy mod that includes Orcs as a playable Civilization.

2. A mod that makes the Renaissance Era the highest era one can obtain.


It's awesome with what you can do in the Beyond the Sword game, unmodded. However, I find my mood changes sometimes. I will sometimes use two mods that game with the game, Final Frontier and Next War Epic. However, I'd also like a mod with a fantasy feel to it, or one that doesn't let you get to the Modern Era, as I enjoy Fantasy and Renaissance Era strat games as well.

1) the answer is obvious, try this .

2) that can easily be achieved by creating a mod and changing some values.
Just create a folder ("MyMod", or whatever) in your bts\Mods directory. Copy the Bts\assets\XML\technologies\technologiesInfos.xml to your mod\assets\XML\technologies.
Open the TechnologiesInfos.xml (right click -> open with...-> choose Wordpad or Notepad) and set bDisable to 1 for every tech which you don't want to have in your mod. Save it, done .

2. I have no modding skills and I don't like the idea of tampering with files since, when I do, it usually ends poorly. Even so, it doesn't fix the fact that certain civs would be at a disadvantage since they'd lose their unique units (German Panzer and American NAVY Seal to name two).

Believe me, #2 is really easy .

But yeah, right about UUs and UBs. But then again, this would require a whole mod and some thoughts about that stuff and is then not anymore that easy.
