I've had an issue about teaching in the college, the first time I put students in it, it offered to train him as a carpenter (this is normal), but also as a statesmat, as I had one in that colony, I thought that university was needed for this.

Another thing, in the second era, can a colonist be equipped with swords?? I dont have the option any more, but I'm plenty of swords, as I didnt need protection, I put the soldiers to work, and now I want to use them again as soldiers, but I dont have the option to become a swordman, are they useless from now??? the other colonies have swordmen, maybe they were equipped before changing era... but this is a problem, what should I do???

The indians wants to attack me, and if I cant equip the swords, and the guns so far are extremely expensive, I have no way to defend my colonies

Besides all of this, I had a hardtime to arrange transports, there's not the automated transport option, you have to choose which trade route, and eventually I dont know wich routes are being done and which are not...

I remember that with ctrl+T (or ALT+T not sure) I accessed to the transport panel, but I cant do that anymore, am I confused with the keys?, is there a thansport resume or something like that??, I think that there was a screen where all the transport unit appear and you can see where are they, and what are they doing.

Thanks in advance, and congratulations for all those working in this mod, I like it the most of all civ4 mods, although is remains still undiscovered for most of the players.

Greetings.

This is odd, is 1498 and indian are already declaring war, the game in in the mid-lower difficulty level

I wasnt even close to them, and he came to my city to bring some presents, but at the same time declares war, I attach the files for you to check it out, is too soon to be at war, this means endin the game at 1498 as I cant face him with 1 soldier...

Is this random? or did I do anything to make them that angry?

I keep posting what I find.

I have started a new game, and fro the very begginig I have an elder statesman in every city hall so I can get 20% independence ASAP, the problem is after 40-50 turnos, I'm so far turn 90-100 aprox, and both cities are still 0% of freedom , adn also de F3 screen shows 0% freedom, I dont know why, I'm producing a lot of liberty bells, that also brings me some FF, but what I mainly wanted is changing era ASAP.

Opinions??

Thanks in advance

I think you went on a native cimetery, sometime the indians declare war if you haven't got a seasoned scout. So be carefull! (It was in the basic game).

Indeed, it is normal, you must have a Newspaper to have % of rebellion in your cities.
Try to put two statesmen in your main city.
In start of colonization, in real life, the sentiment of rebellion didn't exist. That's why it is hard to have a sentiment of rebellion in your colonies in the first era.

OK, I see now, so there's no rebel feeling until a newspaper is built,... that means that all bells until then are half wasted... a little bit too hard, maybe with printing press could be a little better... I dont really like the idea of wasting anything  , but at least I know why it was happening. Actually your mod is really hard :p , although by the time I start having some % rebellion, the other countries are already at 15-20% in easy and medium levels.... do they cheat? or am I that bad ??

I've read the pdf changelog-manual for the last version, but isn't there any full manual with all the differences between vanilla and your mod????, I've learnt some of them by playing but sometimes I find something that I dont know why happens. Among others, how the teaching costs are calculated because they change over time

What about the other issues? Is it possible to arm a soldier with swords in the second era??? I couldnt actually, If I cant I'd rather equip them before changing era, but it doesnt make too much sense.

And about the transport planing, which is the best way to deal with it?? eventually one by one is hard to find them, is there a general screen about trasport?? if not, it would be very welcome :goodjob:

Anyway, congratulations, I'm enjoying the mod.

Greetings

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got the impresion that with just ONE newspaper un one of the colonies, all the other start to develop rebel %, even if they dont have the newspaper themselves, is that correct??, actually there are too many new rules, it would be great having them altogether

Bells = Culture = bigger extension for your nation
Not wasted but here are some possibilities that could be added to improve that aspect. Inclusion of new resources which could be used without being in a city, some type of native collaboration, ....
What's the point of having bigger extension if you are not able to obtain new resources (apart from those which are within your city radius) or to do any other thing except annoying the natives because of colonizing their lands. Maybe you could be allied with a native tribe obtaining special bonuses if the tribe is within your cultural borders, etc.

I will revise the readme and the change-log personally in next versions, so it will be properly translated and will have any missed info.

And wait for the transport ideas. There are a few mods which add independent screens only for this aspect. Anyway at this moment you are able to set them in the advisor screens, not sure if you can now their position. But you can assign hot-keys to these units (ctrl+"number"), which lets you to manage up to 11 transport easily (and see their position).

Actually your mod is really hard
It is hard because, you discovered this mod. For me, it is really easy even in patriots.
do they cheat?
Yes, indeed but with some experiences you will win.
I've read the pdf changelog-manual for the last version, but isn't there any full manual with all the differences between vanilla and your mod????
I would like to do it. Dazio helps me to do the pdf in french but i must translate all the texts in english. As I don't a good level in english, I waste my modding time to translate some texts.
Is it possible to arm a soldier with swords in the second era???
It is not a bug, but I had a bad idea when I implement that.
In fact, in second era, you can arm your soldiers with swords even if you an other swordman in the map.(I know it was a stupid idea :mischief:).
And about the transport planing, which is the best way to deal with it?? eventually one by one is hard to find them, is there a general screen about trasport?? if not, it would be very welcome
I plan to do my own screen on transport, but not in the following version.

I'm not sure if I understand right, but I guess you mean that once in second era you CAN NOT equip swordsman . But there can be other swordsmen in the map previously armed
If so, I assume the best is to arm them before changing era, and in the second era and later get somehow some muskets or build them (they are really expensive)

I also think that this is kind of a mistake, will you fix it in following version?, actually is a pity having swords stored and not being able to wear them (and they sell for 1 or 2 GP only)

I thought they cheated, but every game I do better because I know more about the mod, of course it HAS to be easy for you, but I'm still learning the differences with vanilla and other mods.

For me, besides the swords issue, the transport screen would be the more important, although I can play with than screen, should make the transport micromanagement more doable, and make my life easier

By the way, I remember a "Full automated transport" ICON either in the vanilla game or in AODII, not sure, that put transport to follow every single route, so with this it was just a matter of having enough wagon, are you going to implement something like this??

Thanks for your answers

Not really, in fact if you had a swordman in the map in the second era, you can continue to arm soldier with swords, so if you hadn't got(always in the second and third era) a swordman in the map, you will never be able to had an other swordman.

Yes! Don't worry ;)!
I remember a "Full automated transport" ICON either in the vanilla game or in AODII,
I think it is in AODII mod, but it is not Dales who implement this code, it comes from "[MODCOMP] JTradeRoutes: An Improved Interface"
But in future, I will implement my own version of trade routes.

Ok, I get it now, that's a very weird rule, but once I know it, there's no problem, just remember to have at least one swordman all the time.

What happend to me, is that I put everybody to work, even the soldiers, so I didnt have any swordman in the field.

I'll keep playing, and I'll tell what if find of this mod.

Thanks and keep working on it, it's a really good mod.
