Song of Ice and Fire Mod? (George R. R. Martin)

I seem to recall someone did a map for this and started work on a mod back before C3C. Is anyone working on this still? I have an old half-completed map for this lying on my HD. I'll finish it if there's any interest, but I could of sworn I abandoned it because someone beat me to it.

I can't seem to find anything now though.

Well, I'd set it up to start before the series. Around the time Robert took the Iron Throne... Or maybe before to set up the conflict... The thing about this as a mod, is even though its a fantasy series there really aren't a whole heck of alot of fantasy units to do. I'll probably just import a medieval tech tree... the only real difficulty is doing the Others. They'll have to be a completely seperate tech tree... unless I made them barbarians, but that doesn't seem nearly as interesting... I'd like to throw in a bunch of different knightly orders like the WH mod as well, but other than that I think Martin's worl is pretty "low-magic." Really just throw in a late tech for dragons and your all set.

There's a great sort of comic-style book Martin colaborated with some artists on where I found all the heraldry... So I'd need someone to convert those into static FLC's for leaderheads for me, but other than that, I think I can do everything this mod would require on my own and it wouldn't be too much work.... Only the Others will really be a pain in the arse for me. I haven't got alot of experience messing with tech trees...

I've had the fourth book in this series on pre-order for over a year now.. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever come out.

Edit: Oh yeah, and her name is Daenerys... I was actually thinking I wouldn't include anything but the main continent... Maybe that would be a mistake.

Well, depending on how you count them, the fourth book is "A Storm of swords 2: blood and gold", and I've had that in paperback for a while. You may want to cancel that preorder, and just buy it in the shop...

hmm... I thought it went, Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords, and now I'm waiting on a Feast for Crows... If I recall correctly... Maybe they broke them up for the paperback edition?

edit: ahh, I see you're nopt an American resident... It appears that many of the foreign editions were broken up.

I have Game of Thrones but I never really took interest in it so I abandoned reading it. I may try it again. I wish I just knew more about it.

Surely stark should be religious (the old gods) and targaryen and baratheon militaristic. I agree with all the others however.

Only my view but the starks wouldnt have declared war if they werent forced into it whereas the targaryens are the blood of the dragon and conquered nearly all of westeros through the might oftheir steel (and dragons). This also backs up my claim that baratheon should be militaristic as they were the ones (Robert) who destroyed the targaryens and took the iron throne. Also throw in renly and stannis into the mix and you have quite a warfaring family.

I havent read the fourth book yet so maybe my view will change then but if this mod was to start before robert took the throne then I dont suppose the fourth book would really matter.
