Space Wars Mod v0.1

I did a tech tree for two ages, with some graphics i stole from the game deadlock:II. Also done some new ships, but not a great deal else. Im working on it slowly, but ive lost enthusiasm for it lately :) i never seem to get much actually finished :)

I too hope that you will release the next version too. Keep up the good work. :)

I am using PTW now, so it would be easier for people to download and play without messing about replacing files etc.

Daftpanzer, if you don't feel like finishing this mod, would you mind posting the new stuff you have completed so far? I would be willing to pick up the ball on this mod (though I'm no good with graphics). Thanks.

i can post some more units ive done, tho ive noticed my efforts are not very good compared to the star wars and neomega stuff, but i guess there arent many spacehip graphics around so maybe they can be useful.

Ive uploaded a zip with some flcs and some pics for futuristic techs. So far ive got graphics for different catergories like physics, ship design etc rather than one for each tech.

I havent included the ini files that go with the flc, to save on space. If you need them i can post them too if you want.
 
Oops, forgot one flc i did, a 'raider', i am using it as a barbarian ship. Ill try to attach it here.

Actually, I was thinking that the Pyramids could be used as Alien Ruins, which generate extra commerce because they tourists come to see them, or possibly a science boost because researchers come to study the ruins.

About the city screen.. can everything be changed, including the backdrops etc? i wonder if MOO2 graphics could be used...

As far as the city screen is concerned, I believe everything can be changed on it (but don't quote me on that, graphics isn't my strong point).

I've got some preliminary work done. I'm basing a good deal of the mod on my Empire in Flames scenario, though of course it will be more extensive.

I must admit though that my recent addiction to Star Wars Galaxies is hampering my progress somewhat. :) But I am still working on my version of the Space Wars mod.
 
Well ive decided to do some more work on my own version of this since i got a new 2ghz machine. Ive deciede to incorporate Ed' o wars idea of strategic resource planets (if thats ok?), rather than just strat. resources on some stars. Seems to work better, and you can create some cool stars with several of one knd of resource, so the owner can trade with people. Done some other alterations and things, generall fiddling and playtesting. It seems quite fun to play, a kind of fast paced game with less things to concentrate on than normal civ.

Ive got some tech tree graphics, but getting a balanced tech tree will be difficult. So far the A.I's zoom through all research and get the final big killer ships while you struggel to get half way through the techs. I had a go at making leader animations, but ive not quite got the hang of that yet. Also i plan to start sorting out the improvements and wonders, maybe adding some custom graphics, for the build que if not for the city view.

Ive got quite a few units now, might try to add some unique units for different civs. Maybe some alien races even!
