Spaceship victory

Is it possible to assemble the spaceship after you've already won via domination? I won quite a while ago but hit one more turn, and then I proceeded to finish my spaceship... however, now for the life of me I can't figure out how to assemble it. I move a part into the capital, and then I try to move another piece in and they just swap places.

When you move a part into the capital you then have the option of 'adding' it to your spaceship.

Alright, I don't have that option, so it must not be available after you've already won via another victory method.
