Has anyone done the math/looked this up in the backend?

I'm hearing good things about patronage but haven't used it incredibly much. I searched the forums and couldn't find out how often educated elite spawns a great person, or if there's any non-randomness of which one they pop. If this has been answered elsewhere then sorry for the spam!

I decided to start experimenting with this. On my current game I had Educated Elite for 19 turns with 7 allied city states until a Great General popped from one of them. Just started this game last night so I'll keep everyone updated as to my findings as I progress.

I have had 5 Great People given to me in one game. They were different ones.

Have not gotten too far along today, but 34 turns later out popped a great engineer. I took on an 8th city state 12 turns after the great general was spawned.

Perhaps the log files would help... or am I being terribly naive?

Either way, it's odd... somehow a maritime state manages mysteriously to ferry you all this food, but they can't manage to get a great scientist (for example) to appear next to your capital. You have to escort them across possibly hostile terrain. Unless of course they're a Great Merchant, when they can stay and run their trade mission where they stand.

In my current emperor game I got Educated Elite by the turn 111, standart speed.
At this moment I got 11 allied CS, 3 marytime and 8 cultural.

So, turn 125 (14 turns for the 1st GP) I got Khan from cultural CS. Nice one, Im playing Siam and this is movement 5 fast moving damage buffing ambulance.
Im still playing, gonna post some info later.

huh... so what does that mean? average 37 with a standard deviation of 7, changed by 50% with game speed?

Dunno, if I knew what it meant I'd have said so. I guess it's 37 - rand(0,7) turns but no idea about MINOR_TURNS_GREAT_PEOPLE_SPAWN_BIAS_MULTIPLY

Militaristic City States can gift you a Khan.

That was cultural city state for sure.

So my test comes to an early end.

Siam, emperor, pangea, standart speed, ancient start.

Again:
got educated elite at turn 111
got khan from cultural CS at turn 125 (14 turns, 11 allied CS)
got great merchant from another cultural CS at turn 156 (31 turns, 11 allied CS)
I won, diplomatic victory, 1160 AD/turn 170 or something.

Need more data it seems. Btw 4 city Siam cultural/science strat/no ICS/no puppets is pretty imbalanced imho. Credits goes to Kamino, great thing to play!

No, for sure any City State can gift you great people, including Khans.
I wonder if the patch will correct this?

I got 2 khans while playing as siam the other day. they had the extra move, but I don't think that the extra healing was working for them. has anybody tested this?

The extra healing only works on adjacent tiles, maybe that fooled you? They should get a free promotion but it might be a bug inside a bug, of course

Attached is a Khan spawned from a Militaristic city state.

It has the heal promotion.
