Spearman defense?

I've had plenty (i.e. too many) of anti-tank spear experiences. They are not funny, especially if it is an army of tanks.

Whats worse is when you get city of 35 with a huge attack force of at least 50 tanks redy to go and two wonders vs. a nuke. Fun, fun, fun...
