Sorry to interrupt the offtopic but
Emphasis mine, shouldn't that be "Industrial", not "pre-Industrial"? The screenshot with reformation beliefs states "Use
Faith to purchase Industrial Era (or later) land units." with no mention of including anything from earlier eras.
Also, I personally have a "reformation belief" that the reformation belief that allows barbarian conversions has been scrapped. Check out the rest of the Reformation Beliefs: many of them seem focused on mid or late game while barbarian conversions would be mostly an early game advantage - barring the possibility of keeping an encampment for "recruitment purposes" which in turn would feel very weird. On the other hand, there is a large amount of barbarian musketman activity near Malacca in the BNW Diplomacy trailer, so perhaps barbarians will stay a relevant threat even later on.
Sorry to necro, but I think this new info is important for this thread... Some new info on Reformation Beliefs from the What we Know thread:
Charitable Missions: Influence boosts fromgold gifts to City-States are increased by 30%.
Evangelism: Missionaries' Spread Religion action erodes existing pressure from other religions.
Jesuit Education: May build Universities, Public Schools, and Research Labs withfaith.
Religious Fervor: Usefaith to purchase pre-Industrial (and later) land units.
Sacred Sites: All buildings purchased withfaith provide 2 tourism each.
To the Glory of God: Use faith to purchase any type ofGreat Person starting in the Industrial Era.
Underground Sect: Your spies exert religious pressure on the cities they occupy.
Unity of the Prophets: Inquisitors and Prophets reduce this religion's presence by half (instead of eliminating it).
