Right now, the biggest thing I'd like to do is split barbs into Old World/New World/Oceanic types (and allow them to merge at certain triggers--ie Oceanic become Old World when Steam Power is discovered, and New World become Old world when an Old World civ builds or captures a city on the New World). This way the tech level (and subsequent Barb Civ spawning) could be more easily controlled, and would be the first step toward the end goal of creating an actual new world effect. The end goal would be to allow Terra, or like maps to have an actual backwards New World when discovered, where the barbs themselves were limited in technology as well as the civs that spawned from them.
