Spreading the word about C2C

Hello, C2C Community

In this thread, we share our efforts and ideas to get some exposure and general praise for the mod. Basically, here's where we talk about spreading the word about Caveman to Cosmos, sharing ideas and helping each other do the same.

Videos, screenshots, After Action Reports...everything that can show the uniqueness of the mod, the awesomeness of it, and therefore make people want to check it out, it's all great. You guys could share it yourselves on the medium of your choosing, or you could post your material here so we can maybe create a compilation and publish it.

More people playing the mod is better for everybody. More people to talk about it with, more people to report bugs and to provide ideas, etc. And really, every one of us can help spread the word

I was thinking we could improve/update the feature list. No offense of course, but I feel like currently you don't get the feeling of how awesome the mod is until after you install it and play it for a bit, which is what lack of advertising tends to do.

If someone has video editing skills, maybe even create a video presentation to showcase the main features combined with the screenshots other can provide?

I read reddit most every day, and am also pretty active on digg. I should get a good bit of response from there once I link C2C, and formulate some good comments, I have 1200+ followers there. I am always open to people who want to help come up with ways to promote C2C.

I'll have to post to reddit also, and that post.

Let's work together; because two posts are better than one.
If everybody's posts a link to their post here, then we can all add to it.

I still think it's crazy that more people haven't discovered C2C yet. I think we've all been too busy trying to improve it, than remember to talk about it.
Still C2C could use some regular coordinated love on major forums, and social media.

I can't agree enough that people don't get a feel for the extraordinary character of C2C until they follow and dive in deep enough.

I'm still looking forward to talking with you. I tried to email you several days ago.
I hope we get a chance soon. Maybe we could meet in the chat room?

Reddit is definitely the way to go for exposure. I don't believe in aggressive marketing, but everytime I see a discussion about the general value of mod support or specifically Civ4 vs Civ5 I almost always mention C2C - maybe I should start actually linking here to the intro post though.

Also stuff like this can really help. Something like this would probably get me interested.
Even though it feels wrong to me (that's why I'm not a marketing/PR guy), I think one could even push it as far as exploiting it e.g. if we have a tech like Internet Communities or Social Networks or similar, using the reddit alien as tech icon could lead to quite some exposure if posted during the right time with the right title (two most critical aspects).

Also if you're a redditor, obviously always upvote anything C2C related.

I'm only a redditor for a year or so. I'm a /r/civ redditor for about 2 months. Back when Civ 5 came out, a lot of people must have been pretty obnoxious about "Civ 4 is way better, Civ 5 sucks, blah blah blah" because now it seems to me like when you praise Civ 4 today, people instantly think you're one of those guys.

Or was this taken out of the stickied "Caveman 2 Cosmos" thread? I think that should be added in (probably different/updated screenshots) because visual clues are always better.
