Spring Patch Info

Nah, you're doing the right thing. I usually avoid it too, but spoke to my friend the other day and talked about dogs for a bit, 2 hours later I get an email from amazon with deals on pet food. I don't have a dog and have never shown any interest in pet supplies.

Unless you're using a private server you need to be talking as though everybody at any future date is listening, which is fine for some folks and some conversations, not so much others. Try to explain that to them though and they think you're a paranoid loon, try to dance around any sensitive information in your head and they think you're annoyingly duplicitous or outright deceitful, ignore them and they think you're a jerk. :shake:

Best to just avoid it altogether.

I’ve had this thing with my friends. Just let the word cat food drop in one of every 3 lines. You would be amazed at how fast your ads would change. Big brother is watching you.

One time i bought a blue case for my phone with a ship on it on a popular dutch website. It haunted me for weeks from all kind of websites i used from reading news sources at that time. Scary stuff.

Ahhhh; now I see why it was imperative to disarm the British. Ya'll make immoderate use of guns cringe-worthy

That video was horrifying. I guess I'll never "get" English humor or humour. Holy Grail is about the only one I can somewhat enjoy. As gun crazy as we are here, you'd never see something like this on TV. English humor has traumatized me.

One hour loop of England saying "Would you like to make a trade agreement with England?". Need I say more. LOL.

There's so much crap on Youtube taking up bandwidth. Apparently there's a video for everything on Youtube. There's even a video with nothing but black screen. I know this because I did find it a little bit useful when testing the colors on my new monitor to see if it could display true black (yes I know LCD's really can't display black at all since there is a backlight and all).

English humor
It has been said that it has been our best weapon in both the napoleonic and WW1. Banter, the ability to mock for fun kept our pecker up... or maybe it indicates the rest of our weapons were rubbish.

Sorry for the trauma, I did think twice, manliest are nowhere near that civilised... BTW, that was from a very popular TV show. We have an author of children’s books called David Williams (also on Britain’s got Talent) ... I showed some of his old clips on YouTube, they were horrified.... never look up bitty on YouTube.

Thank you Victoria for bring back the Bitty memories. :)

Very happy Sarah dropped us a line. Very appreciated - thanks.

Surprise alt leader? :p

Well, probably not, but you know how it goes when they post like "news coming up soon" and then this! :D

Man, I so wish Firaxis had used this delay to create an Alt Leader for England, and revamp the existing England. Honestly, they should just ditch everything except the Royal Navy Dockyard and start again (and when I say 'keep the Royal Navy Dockyard', I mean just keep a unique district and a name - all its stats should be revamped). If Firaxis did that, there as just so, so many cool directions they could take England.

My dream would be that we get Elizabeth, and then Victoria could focus on loyalty on foreign continents, and Elizabeth could focus on loyalty on your home continent. Having two female leaders for one Civ would just be awesome and very catchy. And lots of fun could be had with Elizabeth - it would be awesome having Elizabeth asking 'are you interested in a trade agreement with England?'.

Like I said, lots of directions England could go. But my suggestion is this:
  • England's UA, "British Museum" is now replaced by "English Parliament". England receives +1 Economic Policy Card slot. Also gain the Royal Charters ability: Shipyards, Banks, and Universities give you respectively +1 additional Great Admiral, Great Merchant and Great Scientist Points. The British Museum then becomes a World Wonder (which makes more sense because, seriously, last time I checked there's only one British Museum).
  • Royal Navy Dockyard is revised as follows. Cost remains the same. Grants an additional +1 Great Admiral points (+2 total), +1 movement to all naval units built or upgraded in a city with this district (the current RND only gives +1 movement to ships built in the city), and +2 gold (which counts as an adjacency bonus). Gold bonus applies when RND is built on either your home continent or a foreign continent. Gold bonus also counts as adjacency bonus for the purposes of the Shipyard's production bonus (which is how it works currently).

  • England receives a new UU, “Ship of the Line”, which replaces the Sea Dog. England’s Ship of the Line is a Frigate replacement. It receives +1 sight and (only when adjacent to a Great Admiral) additional +4 ranged attack strength. Production, gold and maintenance costs are the same as a Frigate (or it could be maybe slightly more expensive).

  • Victoria’s Leader Ability, Pax Britannia, is changed: Build RND, Commercial Hub or Encampment on a foreign continent at half-price. Governors in colonial cities provide an additional +4 loyalty to that city. Unlock the Redcoat unit a Military Science.
  • Queen Elizabeth (Alternate Leader, England). Leader Ability, “Video et Taceo”. All of your cities on your home continent that have an established Governor receive an additional +4 loyalty (your capital always receives +4 loyalty), and your spies in any city with an established governor operate at +1 level (always +1 in your capital). Unlock spies at Castles. Holy Sites receive +2 adjacency from your City Centre. Receive the Sea Dog unique unit, which replaces the Privateer. Sea Dog can heal in Neutral Territory in addition to capturing units.

  • General rule change: Lighthouses and Markets on foreign continents all receive an additional +1 gold. This applies to all Civs, not just England, which would help encourage Civs to settle foreign continents more.

Telling me not to do something will cause me to do that thing. :) I'll look it up when I get home.

England receives +1 Economic Policy Card slot.

Make them OP to counter the huge nerfs? I've played the Donald Trump leader that has +1 economic policy card slot (not the Trump with science penalty), and I can confirm it is OP. Though maybe not Macedon level OP.

Is it OP? I didn’t really think so given Greece gets a whole wildcard slot. I sort of thought of it as replacing England’s extra trade routes in a (very) roundabout way. I’ll think about it some more - I’d be sad if England was ever top tier or OP; I’d just like them to be solid mid tier and fun again.

Would it be better if an Economic Slot became a Wildcard Slot?

What would be a better fit for England?

I want better mod support and fixes for the current states of mods. Some mods will cause the game not to start (which has a workaround using file changes =. =) and then there is the issue that mods will disable themselves upon loading the game. So annoying.

Perfekt

A make is a build or version or at least the files that make a version. It was indeed the Accipitridae Sectatio making such premises in a previous postulation.

Steady, I'm not off my boat race, use yer loaf, I aint no ponce but...Ellerby, now that sounds silver spoon to me :) I was born a manky, nothing wrong with that bar the wrong end of the coutry. Went in a leaky boat to NZ at the fine age of 3 but been back for a long time now.

We have too many British here.

You make a good point. Greece's ability is more powerful without a doubt. But they other stuff isn't that great, so it kind of balances out.
