SSE / WEe Walkthrough -- Insane Series (Ghandi)

The Taj-McBeth is ready for completion Sir. Right now we’re 70’s GP pts a turn. That will soon change…

1160.jpg

1170
And what a change it is. From 70 to 216 pts a turn. Of course, it helps to run a few extra specialists, but this is the best time. It is what I call CLOCKING. It is best to grow a city early, and then wait to run specialists at moments like this, when you get a tremendous overlay on all specialists running.

A quick summary of the overlay:
50% Parthenon
100% Civic choice
100% for being philosophical (owns over weak financial)
100% for our current golden-age

Also note, that we COULD have added the NE here for an even bigger boost, but we are going to save that for something else later down the line.

Rocks&Scissors is ready for completion Sir!

While I’d like to research Mass Media next, the problem is it’s a dead-end tech and while I don’t mind this since I could backtrade it, already people don’t want to trade with me because I am too advanced as it is. *sigh, I’ll just have to backtech myself. For now I’ll avoid MM, but generally I like to get it for the Hollywood wonder.

Woohoo! It only took till the war of 1812 for that Khurasan city to FINALLY flip over to me! Look how close it was to Saladin’s capital too, that’s a first. Of course, my own capital near by having legendary culture may have something to do with it :P

Damn, Willem completed 2 wonders same turn.

One was the Hollywood (I knew I shouldn’t have skipped it!). The other was the UN, but it sucks anyway.

The Internet (no it’s not a wonder) is ready for completion, Idiot!

Note: We have turned off research spending, but even still it will only take 7 turns for us now to finish off researching Fascism, due to our specialists. However, it doesn’t really mater, as the internet assures us that we won’t fall too far behind.

Spoiler :

The Three Stooges Damn is ready for com……

Oh no it isn’t.

Wait, one second. NOW I know what we were storing all that gold for was! We had to wait till we had over 17 thousand gold so we could rush-buy the Dam(n) thing.

Unfortunately this was the ONLY city that was on a river (not my fault, blame the terrain generator again!), and purchasing it outright was the only way we could get it.

Note: 5 turns left till refrigeration is researched, even though we are not even spending a penny on it to do so.

Oh, and I just wanted to brag about making a whole ICBM in just a single turn :P

Trade gold for aluminum to Saladin (sucker).
Now upgrade that giant stack of tanks to Modern Armour.

The AI in BtS truly is utterly stupid.
-ni

1924
LOLz. Cancel the aluminum deal and declare war.

That’s right a-hole! You just gave me whole stack of modern armour for peanuts, and now I’m going to kick your ass!

Let’s start off with a few nuke attacks in all your cities storing stacks of units shall we?

Note: One of the first cities we will capture this turn is Basra. This is because of the aluminum resources it has. Which will speed up our space race, and also ensure we don’t have problems with any more modern armour resources.

Note: For a very long time I kept sending numerous spies into that Basra city to run culture missions. I was doing 300 and then over 500 culture points a hit, but that damn city, despite under culture pressure from me, and not being too big or having many units in it, just refused to flip.

Oh well, it was something new I experimented with. From now on I don’t think I will bother with this culture mission again. It just isn’t worth it and for all I know could simply be bugged. I never even got it so much as to revolt once after many years of effort!

1924.jpg

1926
We’ve captured the capital. That’s the good news, unfortunately there isn’t many goodies inside. Kashi view I’ll take obviously, if anything, I just want to suck out that cash income from an AI, even though I don’t need cash myself.

The mining Inc. I don’t give a damn about either. The civics I like to run don’t go well with it at all.

Note: One change in BtS I really like is that you now capture settled specialists as well.

1942
Another great general arrives.

1944
Alright, we took a bunch of cities, time to declare peace for now. There is another reason, we are fighting actually two wars now. I sort of left out the fact that I hadn’t checked the stats on Willem for a while, then found out he was running away with a culture win.

There are only 2 solutions to this, either #1, nuke the hell out of his 3’rd culture city, (which sadly won’t remove any settled culture specialists). Or #2, capture the city.

We’ve been making our way towards him for a while crossing Saladin’s battlefields, and actually, I parked a whole stack of modern armour near his city, only to see him attack it with cavalry, and THEN a ton of artillery, all while crossing a river to do it.

That battle took a long time, and seems to have involved almost 100 units in a single stack battle, but alas, it broke Willem’s back. And now I’m following up with another, but smaller stack. I need to take that city!

-ni

1946
Take a good look at the culture here. Willem is very close to his 3’rd city bringing him to victory. The cost though, is he doesn’t have a military strong enough to actually protect it.

culture.jpg

And now, Boom! A few more nukes to cripple or kill what’s left of his stack inside, and the rest of our army waltzes in and razes it. It was a nice city, being Holy and all, but we are simply going to razz it. While I COULD try to hold onto it, if it ever flips back, then we are in serious trouble. And while I don’t mind just continually attacking Willem, I want to play things a little safe and get to focusing on the space-race.

Our main threat is gone now though; that 3’rd culture city. The AI seems to only prioritize 3 cities for the culture wins, so he won’t have any other to fill the gap now.

Problem solved!

We now make peace with Willem and forget that this problem ever happened.

1946.jpg

1954
GE arrives (fiber optics?)
Ok, instead of settling him (which I really want), I will make one exception here again. I am going to start a golden age because it is rather very late and I want to zoom through a ton of space-ship parts here in rapid succession.

There are 5 good cities in total now geared up to crank space parts, and naturally my capital is working on the heaviest of parts.
-ni

1962
Great Spy arrives. Damn, if I could I would have rather used the spy for the GA and settled the GE. Oh well… at least we played things safer
ni-

1964
One thing that I really love now in Civ IV is that you can sabotage COMPLETED PROJECTS! I found this out this very game by accident, when suddenly I was informed that my docking bay was sabotaged just as I was completing my SS engine!

Eeeeek! Looks like I still have a few new things to learn with the new spy system.

The good news, is that it now gave me the idea (and reason) to go and do the same back. Let’s see, if we’re going to target something, why not hit the most expensive piece… the SS Engine!

1964.jpg

Another shot at the victory screen.

It really won’t take me long at all to complete another SS engine, however, I think it is best to launch NOW. The reason for this, is if I launch now, I’ll be the first, and unless Hannibal makes two SS engines in the same turn, he simply won’t catch up to me. The only thing stalling myself right now will do is risk me getting ANOTHER piece sabotaged, and then just possibly lose a race.

That said, I decided to launch now. This means I have 12 turns after launch to wait out.

Note:: Looks like the city I razzed must have had the the AP from Willem.

Future Tech gained without a penny spent. Believe it or not, I like future tech and find it useful.
-ni

1982
A last look at our capital, note we had:

10 Prophets
4 Scientists
3 Engineers
3 Spies

= 20 Settled Great Persons.
Note, we also ran an academy with a GS so that makes it 21 total.

Actually, we did use a GE for a golden age, so really we created 22 total.

Spoiler :
1982a.jpg

-----------------------------------

Now look at this, the other GP farm is just about to pop out another GE which would make it 23 Great Person’s total.

Unfortunately, nothing else would happen after 1982, as our space shuttle arrived.
But technically, we’d be over 23.5 Great Persons produced, not too bad?
