Stack of Doom - number of units

@mega
obviously in AW games you need to worry how many units are about to attack your city and nuclear missiles aren't really a solution when the most advanced units are a rifles and Cavs.

The issue was that we couldn't see how many units the AI had, therefore we had no idea if we would be able to hold the city. This is a problem for obvious reasons. After they attacked we learned they had around 100 units.

Rat was asking if anybody knew of a way to tell how many units are on a specific tile if it doesn't show all of them. I'm pretty sure he wasn't interested in a discussion that consists of rants going on and on about how Civ4 sucks and how horrible the developers are. Why is it that all General Discussion threads end up on this same topic? Please go to a "Civ4 sucks" thread if that is all you are interested in talking about. :rolleyes:

Question: Does anyone know how to tell the real size and units within a stack that exceeds the limit that can be shown on the screen?

I've had a lot of luck with hitting control-I, which hides the interface panel at the bottom of the screen. Mouse over the stack in question, and it shows a lot more of the units than normal.

@knupp, I agree with you here, I do have my rants and raves, but this was a very specific question and then I get to hear people telling me that I don't know how to play a game if I face huge SOD's. That's not entertaining though I can take the criticism, because I don't bother really.

@darkfyre, thanks for the tip, will try and see how much better it will be without the interface.

@ DarkFyre99 -

There have been a couple threads asking this exact question without any good answers until you posted yours.

Thanks for the tip. :goodjob:
