Star Trek - Battle for Alpha Quadrant PBEM

Ion storms destroyed a freighter, although the pop-up claims it was our chairman Germane ! (see pic below). I'm getting sick of these storms

There is only a fixed number of storms ( I think 3 to 6) before the storm generator routine kicks in at the end game. So the storms will not be an issue for most of the game. I lost one crucial freighter myself earlier on. God help us if we can't destroy the storm generator when the time comes - its been so long I can't remember where that is.

The 'Germane' problem is a known bug when playing a FW scenario using MGE. It only affects missile type units and names of leaders or trade goods usually replace the unit name in the 'missile attack' message.

Federation:
What the hell are you doing near Klin´zai????
Two infantry units deployed in locations 11,83 and 14,84!!! Plus a loaded ship in 17,85!!!!
Ah! THE UNITS ARE FORTIFIED TOO!!! That means you are planning to stay there, right???

The Klingon Empire demands the inmediate withdraw of these units.
Federation:
You protested like a sissy boy when i moved my ship "near" (I NEVER DISEMBARKED UNITS NEAR YOU TERRITORIES) your colonies. My goal was the Orions.
What do you want me to do now? YOU ARE VIOLATING KLINGON SPACE. RETREAT NOW!!!!!

WAR ON THE ORIONS!!!!!
Reasons? NONE
I won´t invent stupid excuses. I just want to expand my territory. That´s all

 :D

Sissies?
Qui...? Moi???

Ahem...
Captain Germanos of the FSS Daisy has set forth on a mission to search for new frontiers, to boldly go where no man has gone before... Apparently the Klingons have finally learned of his succes

The Federation will NOT abide by the proposterous Klingon demands  Who is protesting like a madman here?

President Germane of the Federation thinks it is time the Klingon leader starts some constructive talks woth the Federation: the Klingons have not shown any cooperation so far:
*No maps could be swapped, yet the Klingons wanted permission to map Federation space by its probes. Despite Federation denial of such activity, quite a few probes have been spotted entering Federation Space near Barisa Prime. It is unlikely these probes returned to Klingon Space. More likely is they penetrated deply in Federation Space, where they would run out of fuel and self destruct, avoiding further detection.
*Cooperation in research has been rebuffed time after time
* The Klingons gave the Romulans valuable Techs by their uncalled for tech transfer with the Orions and Neutrals, even though they were warned beforehand by Federation intel.
* Indeed Klingon vessels have been warned not to enter Federation space, while the Federation has plenty of means to detect such incursions, not to mention the means to avert these missions. Now that it is clear that the cargo of these vessels was NOT of a peacefull nature, we cannot but feel proud of the well equiped Federation Space-Corps. Calling that sissy behaviour does sound strange in Human ears, but maybe the Klingon ears are of a different design:rolleyes: BTW, WTH was the Klingon freighter moving to when it sailed PAST Blue Horizon just a few months ago
* Seeing the Klingons are finally speaking out their intentions and take full responsibility for their actions, we are confident that cunstructive talks can be held with the Klingons.

Oh, and the Klingons are kindly (but firmly) asked not to stand in the way of The Federation Cargo-Pods near Blue Horizon, AND allow free passage to other Orion worlds. The Federation has no intention to get involved in the pityfull Orion-Klingon dispute, but it WILL ensure Federation Trade will flow undisturbed...

The Klingons are invited to hold private talks on the Planet of Barisa Prime, or publicly here, if wished so. For the time being, Federation troops will remain fortified near Klin' zai. The Klingon frontier moving so much closer to Federation Space does not bode well...:scan:

So what? i didn´t want to swap maps! what´s the big deal??
That i wanted permission? I DIDN´T ASK FOR PERMISSION BECAUSE I DIDN´T KNOW THE LOCATION OF YOUR COLONIES!!!
I was sending my probes to explore, and LATER i found federation space.

More likely is they penetrated deply in Federation Space, where they would run out of fuel and self destruct, avoiding further detection.
Yea? Can you prove that?
You may have done the same thing.
No proofs, no nonsense accusations, ok?

*Cooperation in research has been rebuffed time after time
Yea, so what? it´s my tribe, i can do anything i want. I´m not forced to trade techs with you.

The Klingons gave the Romulans valuable Techs by their uncalled for tech transfer with the Orions and Neutrals, even though they were warned beforehand by Federation intel.
That´s true. It was my mistake.

BTW, WTH was the Klingon freighter moving to when it sailed PAST Blue Horizon just a few months ago
It was waiting for a second klingon vessel + scouting the borders of orion lands.

Seeing the Klingons are finally speaking out their intentions and take full responsibility for their actions, we are confident that cunstructive talks can be held with the Klingons.
Ok. what do you wanna talk about?

No problem. Move you pods wherever you want.

Well, you are the one that sent your units VERY FAR AWAY FROM YOU HOMELAND. You are the one who is moving your frontier 4
squares from MY HOMELAND. Sorry, but i´ll go on building cities to the eastern side of my map.
Private talks on the planet barisa prime? what do you want to discuss?

All in all, i assume you won´t withdraw your units... Ok.
Klingons will never forget your decission... :scan:

For starters, we could discuss on what terms the Federation units will withdraw from the vicinity of Klin'zai. I'm still away 4 squares from the planet, so I don't understand what the fuzz is about.

You don't want to swap maps... I'll draw up my own :p

You have no idea where my homeland is. We are a federation, and every planet is a homeland of its own, and we have met some tribes that chose to join the federation... The FSS Daisy has made quite some contacts along the way, as you can see.
And if you found colonies right next to where my units allready are, I'm not going to move them just because they are in YOUR space all of a sudden.:p

You are the one who doesn't want to talk. That is a choice I can respect, but don't expect me to sit idle...

Now now, everyone knows the humans are biligerant warmongerers. That's why the Vulcans have refused to join the Federation. Klingons should just kill federation ships on sight.

WARNING - Any alien ships venturing into Romulan space will disappear (courtesy of Plasma Torpedoes).

note - Boco over at Poly has discovered that you must have the Industry (Isoliniear Chips in our universe) advance before you will be allowed to build manufacturing plants (BAQ's Android plants).

PM send to Klingons to solve situation near Klin'zai.

To Klingon Navigators (and Romulans as well, may they ever travel in these parts) : The area west of the blue line is considered Federation Space. Do NOT enter without prior permission, Federation border-patrol is on a high Alert-status...

Great. It´s fair.
Fron now on, that will be the frontier between Klingon/Federation Empires.

All Federation forces return to peace-time status.

Federation forces near Klin'zai have boarded the FSS Daisy, or are preparing to do so. They will move away from Klingon Planets, as agreed. Before the year is over, they will pose no threat to the Klingon empire nor its people.

Diplomatic talks with Orions and Neutrals concluded, basic techs traded.

Call for new Government in the Federation Assembly.
To prevent riots, Federation government has increased luxery spending until the situation returns to normal. Science and Tax-income comes to a halt.

The Federation has adopted a Syndicalist Constitution. Boom in trade and science expected.

Offer for an alliance with the Orions rejected. The Federation will however keep very close and friendly relations with the people that struggle for their survival. The FSS Constitution is sceduled to pay a courtesy visit to the home-planet of the Orions within half an earth-year. It will chart the Orion Worlds for Federation traders.

* Coup d´etat in the klingon empire!!!
