ah, I never saw a Gorn ship before ;)
Looks like pre-federation human design...

Here is one of the Lyrans, in case you decide to include them.:)

A Lyran Tiger Heavy Cruiser.

We could make them up.

Sorry, I have to reply the terrain dicussion on the Mod Forum here (because, I can't attach files there)...

It's planned to change the Ocean Terrain (current Deep Space) to Nebular. That should be not difficult, but there is a point, i should mention :

I played a bit around to make myself a picture of a "nebular-ocean". I attached a test-screen, on which you see ocean terrain (green) , sea terrain (black) and the transitions between that two terrain-types.

Because of that one kind of transition it's only possible to create an one colored nebular.
And I want you to have the choise ;)

Yeah, I know we have to choose a color. I'd say red or purple, I think one of those will look best. What everyone else thinks?

Vadus,
Perhaps we should use sea instead of ocean.

The game can be set up with coast to ocean without sea. So occasional sea spots as nebula would make sense.

Also, if we don't mind small nebula only 2x2 or four tiles sea would work fine. I know because I was playing with your graphics and moved the star from marsh to sea. I can now make a star that sits on the corners of the 4 tiles in a 2x2 square. Not once has the colors been mixed up and all of your original color stars are available for use. If you'd like I can send you the star sea tile set for you to look at and test with.

I do think that the ocean tiles are like the land tiles. If you follow the exact pattern of the land tiles I'm pretty sure that you can have larger nebula than just the corners of 4 squares. I'll play with that a little to after I've finished up the terrain for the Stargate mod.

BTW for the Stargate mod I'm using your star pattern in the ocean and coast. I don't know if they want stars in their space or not cause they want to have planets that are at least 3x3 you know normal civ terrain.

Kenta'arka,
Haven't heard from you about the 1 civ2 style unit place holder i sent you. You don't have to recapture the ones you sent me if you don't want. I can convert them as they are. Just capture future ones facing SE if you want units32 icons or SW if you want Civilopedia icons.
Thanks.

Hi Tzar Sasha,

Yes, I'm very interested in what you made :)
could you send your sea.pcx in a pm to me ?

Sure, that's what I wanted to show with the big screen above. ;)

Why should sea be the better way? I worry about the AI behavior, allowed to "sail" with ships through ocean but not through sea ...
And is there a difference to have occasional sea spots instead of ocean spots ?

Is there already a terrain for the Stargate mod ? So it's possible to create a multi-tiles planet, see here
you see, that it's possible to create 4 tiled planets (left top), or 12 tiled planets, as big as a cityrange (right bottom).
You just have to change the coastline-tiles so that those planets become circle.
with different landterrain (coastlines) it's also possible to create small desert planets (one tile) and big green planets (4 or 12 tiles)

Or you take a different terrainset, like the one, they used for the StarWars Mod : Screenshot
It's somewhere here in the Graphics Modpacks Area

I personally like the red nebulas myself.:)

Vadus,
Only reason I was thinking sea, was that the editor defaults to ocean no matter what terrain set you use. I figured it would be easier to place sea tiles instead of replacing all the ocean tiles that weren't desired.....

yes, there is a terrain set for the Stargate mod now. I just got it finished. Well workable anyway. I hope they like it...

Thats just if you use the map the editor generates when you open it. Go to map menu end choose "clear map", in in dropdown list you may choose the base terrain.

Hmm, I guess thats the Problem because of the difference between the versions from homepage and CFC. The CFC Version missed the Buildings graphics, I uploaded them seperately:

I guess the labels won't be 100% correct if you use V1.15, but most of them will work, just one line difference.
