Star Wars: Return of the Mod

Here's a couple of ideas I have:

How bout giving the 2 Sith units the enslave ability and you get Dark Jedi as a result of enslavement.

Another idea is to make the leaders of the Confederacy into king units and have a regicide victory available to the Republic. This thought came to me, since the Confederacy ended once the leadership was killed off.

Chris your just chalk full of ideas. Awesome I love it!!!. The thought of a Sith Lord torturing and twisting a Jedi Padawan to his own Dark version of the Force is creepy...I love it!

I have updates the unit tree (moved around some units and added a few new ones.).

Got a question about my Clone Wars Mod. I am in the middle of test playing it right now and have come up with a situation. The AI doesn't seem to do Amphibious assaults against my planets that often and doesn't really engage in aerial warfare like bombing runs and such. Is this just the AI being stupid or can this be changed?

Okay I think I have the whole AI mass invasion thingy fixed. I just have one more question before I post my Scenario. I have the victory set at mass regecide. The Separatists have to kill Palpatine and Yoda and the Republic have to kill Darth Sidious and Tyrannus. Should I expand the number of people each side has to kill before claiming victory. For example, have the Republic have to kill say the Separatist Council (about nine members like Nute Gunry, San Hill, etc) in addition to killing the Sith Lords and the Separatist having to kill the Jedi Council and Palpatine before each can claim victory. This will make for a longer game and with the size of the map already being 360*360 well ya'll get the picture.

Or should I have it be a domination victory?

Yes, I think you should put more king units in, because a human player could just spam a huge army once they locate the king units and win easy. Although, I've seen otherwise, the AI usually doesn't move around its king units too much. However, in a multiplayer game it would be a hell of lot a fun searching the galaxy for the king units as the other player hops them from planet to planet.

You could have both Regicide and Domination; however, it's pretty likely you'll hit the regicide victory on your way to a domination victory anyway.

Redwall: In my Scenario, all I have are islands/planets. On certain planets, I placed large numbers of units to represent actual staging points in the Star Wars Universe at the beginning of the Clone Wars. I then made the AI really aggressive and it actually loaded up a transport ship with like 8 units and invaded one of my planets. All around the map the AI was loading up transport vessels and sending them towards my planets. This instance could have been a fluke, but they invaded and suceeded in taking one of my planets.

Chris85: I will place more king units in the Scenario. Hopefully I can have it out soon

Republic: Yoda, Palpatine, Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, Mace Windu,Ki-Adi-Mundi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Opp Rancisis, Saesee Tinn, Adi Gallia, Shaak Ti, Depa Billaba, Even Piell, and Anakin Skywalker. 15 Total

Separatist: Darth Sidious, Darth Tyrannus, General Grevious, Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, San Hill, Poggle the Lesser, Shu Mai, Passel Argente, Po Nudo, Tikkes, Rogwa Wodrata, Asajj Ventress, Sev'rance Tann, and Artel Darc. 15 Total

These are my planned King Units for my Clone Wars Scenario. Any input? can anyone think of some important that I have missed or need to put in?

Those look good. Personally, I would have put in a modest 7-9 king units per civ, but 15 might work. :)

:sniper::sniper:Do you guys know when you will be done with this mod?
Probably not for a while yet. Most of the team is no longer with us. Although we still have a few people left, there is still a long ways to go. Your best bet is sum_aar_jam's Clone Wars scenario. He's been working real hard on it and it seems to be almost ready.

Problem with that Epic is that all of these civilizations you speak of except the Hutts were part of the Galactic Republic. At one time in Star Wars history, these civilizations were separate but that was before the invention of hyperdrive. Besides duirng the Clone Wars, there were only two main civilizations in the Galaxy. The Galactic Republic and the Confederacy. However in my next Scenario (which hopefully I will get started in the next couple weeks) will be the Galactic Civil War and I plan on having the Galactic Empire, the Hutts, the Rebellion, and neutral systems such as Corellia. Then my next scenario will cover the New Republic and the Imperial Warlords such as Zsinj's Empire

You could have the minor civs (Wookiees, Gungans, etc...) represented by a strategic resource found on their home planets that allows you to build units or buildings for that particular race. For example, a Wookiee resource on Kashyyyk might allow you to build Wookiee Bowcasters or there is a building only the Republic can build on Kashyyyk called the Wookiee Proving Ground that produces units and the Seps could get one called a Wookiee Slave Camp that boosts production, but increases unhappiness.

I agree that we need more than 2/3 or 2/3 plus several weak neutral civs that'll be conquered rather quickly... but for the case of the scenarios we're sticking with minimal. I've made a... rather simple yet generic tech tree for the big mod (it's in lines like the pentagenesis mod) and we should be able to easily add as many extra civs as we want... like smugglers, piraters, etc. Civs like wookies, gungans and neimodians are that they have one planet, and not much more... so they'd be a bit difficult in terms of units, buildings, technologies, governments, etc. Chris's strategic resource / buildings / unit idea is the general consesnsus for the mod i think, (perhaps a later version when its actually been released and tested) but until then we're keeping it simple.

Gosh how many times have i written that post? btw looking forward to the scenarios. Also, i'm still occasionally working on the jedi interceptor and venator, but i can't work out how to do lasers in 3d studio max. So it might take a while, unless anyone better wants to take over [hint hint]?

So I'm not the only one then.
