Thanks guys, you make SW unit creation very easy. I sure appreciate your expert help.
I knew it was a Venerator. I did not know it was capable of atmospheric entry... I'm guessing I made it a little too bumpy... since alot of the stuff would burn in such an entry.
I see this cruiser / SD as a multi-role transport with guns. It carries troops, fighters, etc. It also has guns. Are the 8 guns I have in blue the only main firing points? Should I add others? Also what sort of fighters did it carry? I was thinking one of the attacks might look like a swarm (ok just a few) fighters coming out and attacking.
I also did not know the purpose of the flaps on the JSF. Now I do. Cooling. If they come up during attacks, I'm guessing they also provide some sheilding for the more fragile cockpit.
I'm not sure about the RING though..... Fighters have always needed some sort of transport to get to the combat arena. And since movement on the map would be a local intercept radius, does the ring really add anything?
Adding a ring would be simple from a modeling persepective. But I think it would be impossible to implement in game or have work in unit creation. How would it work? In run animation, the ring would appear in frame 2, dock the fighter move the fighter and have the ring disappear in the 2nd from final frame, or there would be a discontinueity between fortify, fidget, attack etc
This might also be known as a Jedi Interceptor, and you are free to call it anything you wish in game, but it is also known as a Jedi Star Fighter, even on the offical starwars.com site.
Both older one and the eta-2 are refered to as "type: light interceptor" named Star Fighter, affilation Jedi.
fwiw, I will eventually also make the Obi Wan version of the star fighter. But, not right away.
