Star Wars: The Mod - Unit requests

In that case there is Prolly no Taun-Taun is there?(I know...my spelling is off)

I would be so into doing a HOTH scenario as soon as I get through with testing on BfNY

Actually, I'm almost done with it. I just have to finish screaming at my computer, first. It should be out in days, :)

I finished the JSF, but after looking at it for a couple of days I decided to redo it.
I had the animation frame too tight, so the lasers were very short. The lighting was not quite right. I was not entirely happy with a few of the textures.
So I am in the middle of changing all the animations to a larger frame, better and more consistent lighting and textures. Not very difficult, but slightly time consuming.

 Whoo hooo!!!!! I wants to play...much much...(insert screaming Taun-taun here)...

is the idea of "tripping" the At-At included?...or is that wishful thinking?...

Should not be too difficult to add, but would you really want all the at-at's tripping as they died?

Those fixed up units look good Chris85. Im also glad to hear you're going to start doing Separatist units next cause we need more units for the Confederacy.

Mondo sweetness on the JSF, Bjornlo! :goodjob:

I just posted the newly fixed up AT-TE, SPHA-T, and Bulk Transport over in the Unit Graphics forum. Link

Thanks, I like the new SW updates from you too. Alot better.
On the JSF: The flaws were visible @ civ scale if you looked really close (ok the frame size was a fairly obvious). But, I like to make large (high-res) renders to satisfy my failed-artist-within..(everyone else in the family has more artisitic talent with paint, clay, etc); and the inconsistencies in the bump mapping, etc were very obvious (to me) in the larger image.

Ok, I've PM'ed Chris85 with my problems about the taun-taun, and the hard part's already done. Meanwhile, I tried my hand at an improved MTT, (cut'n'pasting is soooo much easier) and I took everyone's ideas into consideration. So here it is: (looks crappy due to Flc2Gif's limited color pallette)

I would suggest less movement. It's big and heavy and the guns are moderate in size.
Also, I don't know if it is an illusion or not, but the bolts seem to change direction slightly. They launch at one angle and then it changes to another.

*sheepishly walks in*

Um, hello again. I've decided to try helping out the mod again. I'm having some computer problems at the moment, but I should be able to make some more Episode III era units soon, if you'd like them.

We need all of the units we can get jobiwan! I am glad to see that you are going to help on the mod again. And about the Episode III era units you talked about, we need some Separatist warships if you want to make them.

*stares open-mouthed at jobiwan's reapperance*

@odin: MTT looks good now... the lasers split a bit, but that kinda look right anyway. There should only be a very slight shudder as it fires its guns, or maybe a jerk backwards then creeps forward slowly... i dunno, i'm not exactly an excellent unit designer myself...

@jobiwan: black hand has essentially 3DS models for all the star wars warships, get him to send you a couple to work on perhaps. or you could do some foot units *shudders at the thought of foot units*

@chris: new units = great improvement on what they were originally. Woo, the mod might actually be finished!

Which Confederacy warships should be made? I personally suggest the Munificent-class star frigate, Recusant-class light destroyer, Providence-class carrier-destroyer, and the Lucrehulk-class battleship because they were the most widely used in the Separatist navy.

Although thats quite a few different kinds of ships the are all important to the Conferdacy. But as to ship abilities it was said that the Providence was the backbone of the Confederate fleet and were used to fight Republic Star Destroyers. The Lucrehulk battleship has bad attack but great defense. The Munificent-class star frigate and Recusant-class light destroyer should be just mass producable and good in large numbers, but the Recusant is slightly more powerful (from what im told).

Jobiwan- I've got pretty much every confederate fleet model available...Trade Federation Battleships, Providence-Class (Invisible Hand), Munificent-class, and even the Republic Venator-Class, if you're interested. All fully textured and all that jazz.

I agree. However there is one small flaw with your plan, and that flaw is that there are no pictures of the Mandator-class dreadnaught to design by. But if there are pictures that you know about I would like to know where to see them.

@Jobiwan - Welcome Back! I never thought I'd see you around here again. :D

@Odin - I got your PM. I think the MTT jerks back a little to far, especially for a unit of that size. Try to make it look it a little smoother when it moves back.

@Darth Bob - Yeah, it may be difficult to pull off the Mandator, because of the lack of images and references.
