Star Wars: The Mod - Unit requests

Not really what you'd called "hardcore" star wars, but I do enjoy watching them. Anyway, you guys should definetely have the following units(in case you don't already):
1. Sith Infiltrator - sweet ship operated by a sweet character(add Darth Maul in case you haven't)
2. Twin Lightsaber Jedi - Looks cool and adds flavor to the game when you have a jedi twirling around, with lightsabers in each of his hands.

Have you thought about great leaders and countries?
Cause a baisc list would be
Empire Leader Darth Sidius Vader, Boba Fet
&
Republic(Rebils)leader Princes Leia Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Kyle Katarn(dark forces series)

Damn thats basic but it is all there is. At least in the real Starwars

@Varlin Saliptor- how is the Home 1 doing?
@Chris 85- have you started animating the bomber?
@Olorin- are you still alive?
I thought Varlin was doing the MC-40? "Home 1" is the MC-85 and is a HUGE ship.

On the Bomber the Default/Run/Icons are done and I have made a "dry" run on the attack. What I mean by that is that I've got the missile firing, but I'm still figuring out how to do the thrust for the missile. I've also textured a B-Wing with Civ-color, I'm going to start working on that when the bomber's done.

I hope Olorin's still alive that V-19 Torrent kicks ass. :(

@ I am the Future - Actually we've pretty much got all the leaders and civs decided, but we could use more help if you're willing to give a hand.

Report from the ER: Olorin is still alive ;)

Though I don't post, I check in here 1-2 times a day still.

V-19 status report: not much to report from last time. I've been spending my free time working on spaceship screen graphics for my prior commitment, Lord of the Mods. Don't worry, count on the V-19 being in the mod. Add it to the unit lines and what not. Hopefully LOTM will be done here soon, and then I have nothing else to do but work here.

OK. FInally. Here is a preview of the speeder. The big issue here, ithink, is its size. It should probably be a bit smaller. Any comments would be appreciated. :D

oops, i think i uploaded the wrond files. will change that

I would suggest he not fire his laser in the default :crazyeye:
I would suggest changing the vehicle color to be entirely civ colored, there is no civ coloration for now. I think a lighter shade would work best. (Light blue).
The laser should fire twice as fast and 3-4 times as often. Also on the laser, I agree with Varlin that a bolt of light should not cast a shadow. The vehicle is low flying, so it makes sense that it have a shadow, but if OpenFX allows individual parts to not cast a shadow, this would be a nice extra touch
The unit should be scaled down in size so it is sized to match other vehicles in the mod. I would guess around 30-50% reduction.
In default, fortify, and fidget, it might look nice if the rider fiddled around a bit. Similarly a fist pump for a victory should look good.
There are some palette anomolies on the arms from the speeder body to the laser.

Over all, looks good so far. A vast improvement over your last unit. Keep it up.

i updated my post. i still have to resize the animations. ANyone have any tips on how to do that easily or do i have to render each frame again under the new size and then make a storyboard in SSB?
PS: I am using Poser

I've re-sized ALOT of units, because some of the best ones out there are not the right size for me (they are larger then I prefer).
If you are very careful and do it in photoshop, that is as close as you can get to re-render... but it is a pain.
You have to save the storyboard (PCX) in original size.
Save the storyboard in target size
Convert the original storyboard to RGB
re-size to the new size
paste to the smaller PCX storyboard.
And even then there is a quality drop.

Re-render gives better results. Re-size with Flictster or Civ3flcEdit is also possible, but there is a larger quality loss when you do that. Since you have the model and can re-render it, that would seem to be the way to go.
