How do you specify start locations using Civ3edit? When I right click on a square with a starting location, there is a drop-down box, but it is faded out and I can't click on it. How do you activate that box?

Is there a manual for Civ3edit on the web somewhere?

Cheers.

Welcome to MacCivFanatics :wavey:

You can't do it in the Mac editor because it only handles the feature set provided in version 1.21, and the ability to set start locations was added in 1.29. At least that's how I understand it

I managed to place a player start position. It was strange, though, because there wasn't any special graphic for it; just said 'player start position' (or whatever) in black Verdana type. Well, it didn't work anyway, so...

But, yeah, Mac users don't get the 'luxury' of being able to use start positions. It's random, and always will be random until we get PTW or C3C.

I think we *only* need a 1,29-savvy editor. Start positions are available in the 1.29 PC editor AFAIK.

I was able to use start locations in a scenario I crated, but after making what I consider a minor change it now always starts my civiliztion on a particular hilltop (that is not designated as a start position). This happens regardless of what civilization I start with, or what others are in the game. I can also turn off (or on) "culturally linked start locations" with no effect. So what did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
