Start up error

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this or if it has been posted before but anyways, everytime I startup and come to the Init Engine part of the loadup the screen starts to flash very fast, turns black for 5 seconds and I get this messege then Civ4 closes down. what really is strange is that it has been working untill i tried to play just now. It has worked since I installed it and all of a sudden it does not work. I don't understand this.

Well, one time I was playing "Brothers in Arms" and it worked then suddenly started saying "Video=no video", which was weird because if there was no video card then how did I see that? Anyway, if this is like that, then re-install might work.
