Starting in North America

Hey guys.

Just bought civ 5, so its all a bit new.

One question: how do I start playing a game in north america? Whenever I choose America, I allways wind up starting in south america.

Civ starting locations are generally random in Civilization games (excluding start bias, as in certain civs start near a certain type of terrain). You can, though, use the world builder to set start locations.

Also, Dale's TSL Earth maps (available via the Mod Browser, one of the first mods, so you'll have to go to the beginning to find them) should allow you to play in a specific starting location. I think.

yeah there are many True Start Location maps, i suggest you Gedemon's YNAEMP where you can choose every civ you want to be in the game and custom options, so you can erase from the face of the planet those indians ;D(at least, i advice you to eliminate the iroquois, since they're too close)

hmm downloaded this Dale's TSL Earth maps but whenever i go to mods and start a game, its not comming up in avalible maps... it it under my installed mods... what am i doing wrong?

In the mod browser, there is a tab which shows all downloaded mods. Beside each mod name there is a button to tick, which defines if the mod is used or not.
