Starting to mod this game, immediate brickwall

Any vets here who can help me with this? I've been trying to mod the yields, and it seems no matter what I do I can't get any of the icons to change. I edited all of the following:

• resource_icons_64ea.dds
• CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml
• CIV4YieldInfos.xml

and added a custom icon but the damn thing refuses to change. What am I doing wrong here?

Sounds like you did not change the Gamefonts.

Look inside:
...\Assets\Res\Fonts

Edit:
Be careful with the Gamfonts, they are tricky.
Make safety copies and check your changes regularly.

I feel so ********.

The actual reason was that I put the Art and XML folders directly into the mod without having an Assets folder above. -_-
