Emperor Jonah I was standing with his wife, Jane, on the elegant, grand, big, highest balcony of the Imperial Palace. Both were Catholic Christians, as were 97% of the people of the Polish Imperium. It was indeed a time of grandeur in the Imperium. News from the east, however, were a bit shocking. The HUGE Mongol Empire, member of the recently-formed Grand Eastern European Alliance, had shattered into several rival khanates and factions. Many paranoid people that lived in Europe must have breathed a huge sigh of relief and will probably sleep soundly knowing that the threat of Mongol invasion, which was just a figment of imagination fomented by paranoia, was gone, or at least dramatically decreased.
Poland had become a major trading power, alongside Yalta (both countries having 2 trade routes), in Europe. However, the economy was not perfect - it is only stable, an economic status that is not good enough. The trade would surely help the economy get better, but something had to be done NOW.
In the German Provinces, there was food again, and rebuilding efforts were already under way. Several humanitarian nobles had immediately sent aid to rebuilding Germany's buildings. Gdansk was in its former glory again, too. People that had fled the inferno into the villages when the city was attacked ruthlessly by the Danish and Dutch had come streaming back, rejoicing.
