Steam Beta Fails To Uninstall?

Steam keeps telling me that the Steam Beta has ended and should be uninstalled...

But the removal always fails and reverts to the previous...

Any thoughts on how I can deal with this?

In the Steam->Preferences window on my system, there's an item about half way down that says "Beta participation: (None currently available)".

Have you tried the Steam->Check for Updates menu option?

Other than that ... Contact Steam? Reinstall it?
