StKNES5: A New Lease on NES

To Rome
From Israel
The Wise King has taken your proposal into consideration, and has this to say. We wish to remind you that this pact is designed to protect not only the Mediterranean, but also the Black Sea. As for our choice of "The Jerusalem Defense Pact" we believe chosing Jerusalem is a good idea for a couple reasons:
1. We, the people of Israel, organized this treaty.
2. We had considered the name you suggested, but desided that since Georgia is of a completely different culture and Georgia and Dalmatia are on the Black Sea, this was not an accepteble choice. But, Jerusalem is in between the cultures of the Armenian Georgians and the Hellenistic-Romanesque Romans, Byzantines, and Dacians.
As such, the King and Knesset have come to their decision. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Roma!

Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. Here people lived in luxury from the trade goods brought in through Tel-Aviv. Soon, it woudl hold the Great Temple of King Solomon. It was a great city, but it wasn't always like that. Founded by the wandering tribes of Israel, it startedout as merely and encampment of tents set on a hill so it could be easily defended. But, as the tribes pushed out from their hill-top, Jerusalem grew from all of the people who were conquered, and the population boom caused by the new access to fertile land. A palace was built for the conqueror king, David of the house of Judah. Where as his pedecessor had lived in tents even when not at war, David would now live in a grand palace when not cutting the throats fo his enemies. Andwith the palace, artisans flooded into the city form every country and culture in the region. They built the mansions and villas of Jerusalem and the surrounding countryside. They were now building the great temple on what was now being called the Temple Mount. Soon, it would be completed and people would flow into the city, year by year, to pay their respects to the Lord of Israel, god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Soon, Jerusalem would be a city to rival Byzantium, Rome, and Lisbon. Soon, Jerusalem would take its place among the great places of the world.
********
Kamilian- I just noticed that when I started building the Temple of King Solomon, I forgot to include that it should make Jerusalem a holy city for Judaism. If you could fix that, that would be great.

From Silesia, Slovakia, Austria
To Byzantium:
Funny how you say that it is Eire that tries to destroy non-Irish culture, when it was you and your lackeys Rome and Israel that attacked Dalmatia - a nation that was not doing anything to you at all, that was minding its own business. As soon as your NAP with them ran out, you plotted and attacked them.
There is no "European culture". There are local cultures that are being threatened by you, as evidenced by your dishonorable partition of Dalmatia.
To Rome:
You're not free of guilt, either. You had a Defensive Pact with Dalmatia. And instead of honoring that pact, you betrayed it. You and Byzantium are nothing but hypocrites and tyrants.
And Austria has seen your proposal, and while it could save Austrian lives and immediately restore all of Austria's boundaries, it would not be honorable to sign it, as Dalmatia remains partitioned.
To Israel:
You're not even European. Get out!

From Dacia
To Byzantium:
We will follow your action in this matter.

From Crimea
To Byzantium:
We have just paid to estalish a working trade route between us and Eire. We will not eliminate it because you're having a fight with them. This is not our fight. We just want to trade and live sovereignly. We will not fight for Eire and cancel our trade with you, but know that we will certainly not fight against Eire and cancel our trade agreement with them, either.

From Georgia
To Byzantium:
Don't involve us. This is your battle, not ours.

From Georgia
To Israel:
We wish to remain friends with you, we do. But we decline your offer of a Defensive Alliance. Signing it would just drag us into a war with a nation that's on the other side of a continent. And it's not our fight to fight.

From Egypt
To Israel:
You offend us. You may have fought us when we occupied the southern territories, but you hardly defeated us. We withdrew of our own accord because we found a suitable place for us.
Even the Palestinian Arabs that joined your nationhood refused to fight us.
Let it be known, to everyone, that the Arab withdrawal from Israel was due to the Arab chieftains' decision, not the superiority of the Israelite army, because we were pretty evenly matched.

From Byzantium
To Silesia, Slovakia, Austria:
Once again we remind you of the fact that Byzantinian money mysteriously disappeared almost every time when reaching Dalmatian lands. All we want is security, like all reasonable nations. That's why we went against Dalmatia, and that's why we would want the entire Europe to stand against the Irish tyrant - for the protection of this entire continent.

From Austria, Silesia, and Slovakia
To Byzantium:
And we remind you that Dalmatia agreed to a legitimate trade route running through their lands, which they would occasionally profit from legitimately, just as you and Rome would, and that most of the disappearances occured within Byzantine borders, in the Slavland provinces. Dalmatia was hardly ever responsible for the thievery. But no, you used the thievery of some rogues who had no nation-loyalty as a pretext to dishonorably invade Dalmatia.
But even if you really are just trying to make sure that Dalmatia is no longer a nation led by criminals and thieves, then have you imprisoned or executed their royal family? If yes, then release Dalmatia to a new, legitimate, honest government of its own, and restore Dalmatia's pre-invasion borders.
If you do not do this, then you really are just a hypocrite, and it is you who is the tyrant that Europe must defend against.

OOC:
i have no recommendations as of yet. at the moment, i am preparing to proceed with the resource rule addition which, as i have already said, will affect a great many things in this NES, both economically and militarily, so it is not yet definite who can be ranked as a good NPC for you
...
it is also because of this that i am extending the deadline by 2 days/ orders are now due on Thursday morning at 10 Central US Time, unless things force me to delay further, which i hope they dont

Blah-biddy blah-biddy blah.

From Eire
To Byzantium

It appears that turning us into a tyrant isn't working out very well for you. If you had truly wished to have security rather than take over Dalmatia than you would have sent part of your troops to escort the trade route, this is what we do and our trade moves just fine.

To Silesia, Slovakia, Austria
From Israel
The Wise King, in all justice, had decided to make himself clear as to his meaning. We have no want to interfere into European affairs, only to protect the Mediterranean and Black Seas form aggressive powers. We most certainly hope that we have not offended you. But we must let it be known to you that we are deeply offended that you owuld consider us "lackys" to the Byzantines. Though great they are, they have no control over us. We opperate as we wish and want it known that this is so. Perhaps our situation would be better understood by you if you understood our religion and culture. If you see fit, we would be happy to send Kohanes to teach you our ways so that we may grow in understanding and trust. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Europa!

To Georgia
From Israel
The king and Knesset, the twin powers fo the Chosen People, uderstand completely your position. It is the wisdom of our wise king, King Solomon, that nations must chose their own path, depending on their own needs. We would also like to inquire as to the success fo the Kohanes in your fair land. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Georgia!

To Egypt
From Israel
King Solomon, in his infinite wisdom, has noticed the easily seen mistake that you have pointed out. What was meant by us is that it was a miracle that we somehow maintained our national unity despite the attacks of your powerful forces in combination with the devestation of the plague. For as you know, if we had succumbed to the plague, nothing would have stopped you from conquering us as you did Egypt and your brethren did Iraq. So please, take no offense at what we have said. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L'Mitrayim!

To Egypt, Iraq, and Yemen
From Israel
The Wise King, ruler of the Promised Land, wishes to make an offer. We propose that we send Kohanes, if you so please, to teach the word of the lord. People of Ishamail, your brethren in Palestine have already entered into the covenant of Abraham. Please consider our proposition. If you disaprove, then we will take no offense and no harm will be done. L'Chaim! L'Shalom! L'Yisroel! L' Yeladim Ishmail! (To Life! To Peace! To Israel! To Ishmail's Children! [Arabs])

Dubrovnik, the entrance to the Adriatic. A beautiful port with clear blue seas and whispy clouds. The Magen David (Shield of David) now flew over the old palace. And inside the said palace, a deal was being struck up. King Solomon, in all of his eternal wisdom, had decrede that the new Dalmatia province and all of her people would be counted as equal territory to the rest of Israel, the Dalmatians a tribe just like Judah, Dan, or Ephraim. As such, the people would elect a member of the royal house to becom the Dalmatian representative to the Knesset. The Dalmatians would have full rights as citizens under the law, more so than they did under the old Dalmatian rule infact, and they would maintain control over much of what on at home, just like any other tribe. And as the people of Dubruvnik stood outside the palace, a shofar (rams horn trumpet) was sounded. And the Israelite representative came out to tell the people that the finer points of these decrees had been worked out, and that they were all now full citizens under the law. He also stated that elections for the new head of Dalmatia's royal family (actually its second nobelest family, seeing as the old noble family was in Byzantine or Roman hands) would be. Soon there after a city wide festival was thrown that lasted a whole week, were the people drank Israelite wine and ate olives from the Golan Heights off of tables made of the finest Lebanese Cedar. Truly, the people were happy.

From Byzantium
To Austria, Silesia and Slovakia:
Why would people from Byzantine steal their own money! You are not making much sense. You are starting to sound like Eire, with all your crazy lies and stuff. Seems like you have bought the Irelandish propaganda afterall. Well go ahead then, let the truth be hidden in your lies!

To Eire:
Sure, but you'll never catch the potential thiefs. It's called "entrappment". Or something like it.

Meanwhile I get no replies....

From Maori and Papua
To Australia:
We agree, we should coordinate military strategy.

OOC: Come to think of it, the change I wanted to make would have been way too drastic. I would've had to practically re-do the entire rule-set, which is a task I don't feel up to at this time.
We'll keep things simple like they are for now.
Orders are due Thursday.

Kamilian said:
...You had a Defensive Pact with Dalmatia...
huh? I didn't even know about it... oh well.

From: Rome
To: Austria

We think you've had your punishment for sneak-attacking on Rome.
Roman troops will now pull back to pre-war borders, but, they will also build watch towers on Austrian territory near the border. This is to ensure that you won't try to make such attacks in future.

From Austria
To Rome:
Build watch-towers and forts on your side of the border to your heart's content. But no buildings of yours will be built on Austrian soil.

From Austria, Silesia, Slovakia
To Israel:
Uh-huh, uh-huh. And what is your explanation for attacking Dalmatia, who had nothing against you at all and did not attack or provoke you at all?

From Yemen, Iraq, and Egypt
To Israel:
We will allow some of your Konahes.

From Georgia
To Israel:
The Judaic faith is growing among our people.

From Austria, Silesia, and Slovakia
To Byzantium:
Why do thieves, of whatever nationhood, steal? Why do murderes murder? Why do any criminals commit any crime? Because they seek to disrupt the law and order of things. And that is exactly what they did, and you, in your lust for land and power, fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

From Byzantine
To Austria, Silesia, Slovakia:
Don't speak as if you wouldn't have done the same. We all know you would have. Criminals deserve to be punished, no matter what their nationhood is, only those who commit crimes would think differently.

When did the three of you start talking with only one voice, anyway?

From Austria, Silesia, and Slovakia
To Byzantium:
Don't speak as if you wouldn't have done the same. We all know you would have.
We wouldn't have done the same. We're not barbaric.
When did the three of you start talking with only one voice, anyway?
When did you, Israel, and Rome start singing the same boring song, too?

From Byzantium
To Austria, Silesia, Slovakia:
I have never seen a nation that would allow it's money to be stealed and I don't think you would allow me to steal your money even if I tried. Quit making martyrs of yourselves, we all know that you are nothing but hypocrits. Propably bribed by Eire somehow.

Me, Rome and Israel started singing the same song when we realized that there was unjustice in the world that needs to be corrected. It's a shame that you do not see the injustice, the world could be made a better place for all of us when criminals are put behind bars.

From Eire
To Byzantium

We're curious, you speak of bringing criminals to justice, so where are the criminals that caused you to invade Dalmatia
