Stone [Modular]

This simple modmod "fixes" the distribution of the resource STONE so that it's more common on most map types.

Ref: Stone

Rocks have had a huge impact on the cultural and technological advancement of the human race. Rocks have been used by Homo sapiens and other hominids for more than 2 million years. Lithic technology marks some of the oldest and continuously used technologies.

Ref: Dimension Stone

Dimension stone is natural stone or rock that has been selected and fabricated (i.e., trimmed, cut, drilled, ground, or other) to specific sizes or shapes. Color, texture and pattern, and surface finish of the stone are also normal requirements. Another important selection criterion is durability, the time measure of the ability of dimension stone to endure and to maintain its essential and distinctive characteristics of strength, resistance to decay, and appearance. [1]

Quarries that produce dimension stone or crushed stone (used as construction aggregate) are interconvertible. Since most quarries can produce either one, a crushed stone quarry can be converted to dimension stone production.

Ref: Lithic Technology

In archeology, lithic technology refers to a broad array of techniques and styles to produce usable tools from various types of stone. The earliest stone tools were recovered from modern Ethiopia and were dated to between two-million and three-million years old.

v0.1

The terrain types have been broadened (stone can realistically be found anywhere and under any sort of terrain).

The random occurrence after per-player scatter have been increased.

To install:

1. Copy the attached zip over your /Rise of Mankind folder.
2. Ensure the folder /Modules/Sarkyn/Stone appears
3. Make sure your MLF file in the base directory has a reference to the /Sarkyn directory.

This should be very helpful. Usually there is 0-1 stone on the entire map and its always fought over at the beginning of the game. Only one question, how many stone resources does it put on the map, because I would rather not have 15 stones on the map .

It makes it roughly as common as Wheat or Rice.

Eg. There is most likely 1-2 within your Empire, but very, very rarely less than that.

Thanks Sarkyn, I will now use this mod once the game im in the middle of is over, ironically the game im in has 0 stone resources .

Thx,I really liked more stone in the map , but i feel that the maps need more salt and more incense and a little more of marble ... they are rare in some maps.

This mod could be expanded to include many other resources that don't or hardly spawn. (Like Tea, coffee, horse, dye, olives, hemp, etc , etc ,etc) . It's frustrating because I find myself having to manually add resources to map that never spawned in the first place.

just to let you all know: if you want to select what resources you build I am working on a mod that allows building resource structures and at the same time remove all map generation of resources, (The current form I am working on even remove resources from the most aggressive python generating scripts (it's modular all too), haven't released the update yet so it still the plain original right now, I working on events, to spice the module up and make the ATF more realistic, and quality assurance control laboratory more realistic.

What do u mean by that:

3. Make sure your MLF file in the base directory has a reference to the /Sarkyn directory.

It should already have that if you are using AND, but if not, see the tutorial, sticked at the top of this forum.

I use AND with 2.8 when playing alone but in MP AND for 2.7 give to many bugs, and I am not sure what Add in AND comes the bugs from . . .

How can we reduce (a bit) the amount of stone that this mod spawn. Can someone tells me what to edit?
I tried to change the value of everything without any result.
on a 18 continent map, huge map, 10 civ total (4 human 6AI), I got 3 stones per continent where let be honest 1 Max would be enough. even on continent with no civ on it at start.
