I don't know if my Warlords installation is getting the wobbles or if there is a small bug I haven't caught up with yet. The first wonder I ALWAYS build is 'Stonehenge' but the last 3 or 4 games I have played I've noticed that hundreds of years after I have built it a notification comes up on screen telling me that 'Stonehenge' has been built in a far away land??? When I check the wonders screen I find that it has been taken out of my listing and added to a rivals  . Has anybody else had this happen? Is it possibly due to an unnoticed bug in the latest patch? I haven't noticed it before and I have been playing Civ IV since the week it came out here in Ozland.

Not a problem in a particular game it now happens every game, I'm becoming convinced that I need to reinstall. I will do a clean install of both Civ IV and Warlords after doing a registry fix, then patch and see how that goes.

In some of my recent games, I have experienced similar situations considering techs. I might trade a tech, and a few turns thereafter an other leader will be able to sell me the same tech.

that is odd o_O

One quick question as a potential clue -- is it happening soon after Stonehenge become obsolete? If so, I suspect that when it becomes obsolete, its being incorrectly 'removed'.

Sorry about the tech problems, so I hope you don't mind if I make a little joke?

Maybe the other Civilization had a Merlin unit!

I know it is NEVER supposed to be removed, even the culture can be important. But it is the kind of item that can cause a programming bug, that the programmers maybe listed the wonder as 'buildable' when it went obsolete.

In my last game, i had something like this. I was Augustus, and in my engineer specializing city I built the Hagia Sophia. I then told the city to build the Pentagon. About 3-4 turns later, a message pops up: "Roosevelt has built the Hagia Sophia". Puzzled, I checked my city, and the Hagia Sophia was gone. Production on the Pentagon was normal, and it was about a quarter-built. I then got the "production on Hagia Sophia can not be continued... the lost production has been turned into 120 gold" (or something like that).

This was the first time it's ever happened. My Warlords is fully upgraded patch-wise, and I had never had any gameplay related glitches before.

It was pretty annoying, as my city wasn't as good as it should have been, but losing Stonehenge sounds worse.

I don't have a save, but I'm certain that Hagia Sophia was completed, as the production menu popped up, saying "(INSERT CITY NAME HERE) has completed the Hagia Sophia...", I then told the city to start building the pentagon, which it did. Everything went as though i had indeed built it.

I never actually looked in my city to find it, though, I just assumed that if it told me it was done, it really was done.

It sounds to me that the Wonders are not being finished and an AI is being you too them.

Im guessing the Message is probably saying "XXX City cannot Complete Wonder", and the Game Events log, is just lagging to tell you the wonder was built. Ive noticed a few times that if alot of things are going on, the Event's telling me when Great People are born, Wonders are build, is sometimes a few turns behind.

I mean, when you "complete" the Stonehenge wonder, is it doing what it should do? i.e. Centering the Map, giving you Monuments?, if not, then your not finishing it.

For mine, it went to the production menu, specifically told me Sophia Hagia is completed, then asked what I wanted to build next, and I chose the pentagon.
The pentagon started building normally. THEN the event message popped up "Matt has completed the Hagia Sophia". However, a few turns later it said "Roosevelt has completed the Hagia Sophia", and THEN I got "Pisae cannot continue working on Hagia Sophia, lost :hammers: have been converted in to 100 gold".
I then looked at Pisae, and it was still building Pentagon, which was about a quarter done.

However, I remember that it didn't seem like I got the worker bonus for the wonder.

Argh! More weirdness!

This happened in BTS, but it's relevant. So I'm Portugeuse, building the apostolic palce, and I decide "If I switch my state religion, I'll be more powerful in the palace. So I switch to Hinduism, which is the most popular. Bad move. Lisbon isn't hindu, and as the Apostolic palace can only be built by a city with state religon, Lisbon can't continue working on the Palace, and as a added bummer I don't even get any gold. Yet.
Well, a few hundred years go by, and the Byzantines finally build the palace.
On the event log, It shows me the "Lisbon cannot continue working on the Apostolic Palace, the lost :hammers: are converted in to X :gold:"
WTH? This time I got gold for no reason, but it's still weird. Lisbon hadn't worked on the Apostolic palace for centuries.

Lisbon still had the hammers stored. If you'd gained the State Religion there or if you'd switched back, it could have finished the palace.

Well did you actually put hammers into building the Apostolic Palace? Any hammers used up are converted into gold, regardless any time difference(s)

@Mattzc7: That's working just fine then. Lisbon still had the hammers for the apostolic palace stored, and if you'd swapped back to your original state religion (or possible spread your new state religion to that city) you could have continued construction. It only converts the hammers to gold when it becomes impossible for you to ever complete the palace; i.e. when someone else builds it.

Oh, ok. Thanks for pointing it out.

Well, this is kinda on topic:

I've never had a problem completing the Stonehenge. Not even when I waited until 200BC to start building. Not even when Isabella, Mehmed III, Montezuma, Mansa Musa, AND Saladin were all in the game. All these spiritual leaders and you think SOMEONE would prioritize the Stonehenge. Well that was then...

...and this is now. My first game after the 2.13 patch update and the FIRST THING i go to build (after a warrior) is the Stonehenge. I'm beaten on the VERY LAST turn. I'm playing on Warlord (so the AI has the disadvantage) and I had a pretty productive capital considering I only had 3 citizens (5 hammers). Did they up the priority for Stonehenge in the new patch?
