All the people I know have been telling me that IE is the best browser to use. They would be right if the thing actually worked. When Windows was fresh on my comp IE worked fine but as time went by it just got worse and worse. It started with just a few error messages and boot up problems (frustrating but tolerable). Then in the last few months it has taken up freezing itself periodically. In the beginning it would just lock up for a second or so but a few days ago it was locking up for two or three minutes at a time every time I brought up a new webpage (absolutely unnaceptable). I reinstalled IE, updated the version from five to six, and even reinstalled windows and it just kept sucking.

So I said, "TO HELL WITH THIS PIECE OF MUNKY SCHLONG!" Netscape was an adequate solution to the problem but I hate the layout and hate even more the boot up time it takes. So now I got Opera version 6.0 and the thing is totally kick ass. It's an all-in-one explosive package of browser, POP3 email access, search tools, and instant messaging.

Toss away IE and get Opera.

Netscape ROX!! Just change the skin!

Almost all webmasters program for IE. Because it's easier. Not because it's better. So simply, for max combatibility, and free choose IE. I've heard good things about Opera, but I've never used it. If you have the money to spend, it's probably worth it. But I don't have the money. ;) If IE is screwing up, Windows will probably follow shortly, so you may have to reinstall anyway..... :(

Since version 5 of Opera there has been a free version with an ad in the corner. Opera blows the other two out of the water for speed and java compatability, as long as sites are programmed industry standard and not IE compatable. Anyway considering Opera full w/ java takes up 14mb IE takes up 900mb and Netscape takes up 600mb you can guess which is faster.

Well it's too bad, that Peekabooty seems to be only a vaporware :( It sounded like a really bloody great project, from the famous hack tools programmers Cult of the Dead Cow...
They said it would be spywareless, totally uncensored, with great features etc... If it was released, I would really switch to it.

I agree with CornMaster when he said that when IE is farting up it is more than likely a sign you need to reload Windows....or upgrade!

I used to be an opera freak but I have reverted to the joys of IE :)

It is just so much moer compatible and I race around civfanatics AND apolyton with IE whilst I crawl with other browsers...

Since a few months I kept using Opera 6.0, because it's fast and ingenious in its handling (mouse gestures; not 1000 IE-Windows anymore, but all in one...).
The only thing I'm really disturbed about is, that Opera has terrible problems with Java-applets. So I'm forced to use IE for some sites :(
Neverthelass I can advise everyone to give it a chance. Just imagine 50% of used browsers would be Opera and everyone is forced to use a clean source-code for his sites.:D

That thing has one small error. IE 6.0 IS compatible with Java. I have used them hand in hand several times.
